BANG!

Crystaline and Obsidinate. Light and dark. Good and Evil. The forces collide no matter where you are. In a realm opposite of the one you rest in at this moment is The force Crystaline. And its Equal and Opposite force, Obsidinate. They clash, even here. Look around you. What do you see? A book? A table? A desk? A chair? All can be used for good. And when in true disparity, used for evil. But when you look at the things you consider evil, say, A knife? Or Maybe A gun? Yes, both can and often are used for evil, but when you need defense against a true evil, are these things evil then? You may not be able to see Crystaline or Obsidinate, or put a label on it, but its there.

And more so in this new realm, called The Bellus. And 4 kids from this world, are just about to find this out, the hard way.

The Bellus is similar to Earth in two ways. First, a human like species populates it, the only difference between us and them is that they lack one thing, an Appendix, so its not to easily distinguished who is human and who is not. Second, they live a what we would call a mid-evil life style. The people live in wooden cottages in small villages or on large farms. There are fast stretches of unclaimed land. Girls wear dresses, full time. Boys wear the colonial style clothing. Cloaks are still in fashion and there are few and far between who don’t own a cloak. The singular most important difference, is people can do magic.

Now, music is the carrier of this magic. Crystaline followers rejoice in music, it brightens their days, but the magic that comes with it is subtle, adding a light, packing a bag, small magic. Everyday magic. But a few of the followers, favored ones, can do larger magic. Like stopping an object from falling, creating a barrier around those the user loves, to protect him/her from the Obsidinate.

All Obsidinate followers have the same basic power, seduction. A power that isn’t to be taken lightly. If used on a Crystaline follower, the Crystaline follower can be tempted to change sides. But a few advanced powers include, poison making, and laying charms.

When the 4 kids are sent The Bellus is at a life or death point in its history. Crystaline and Obsidinate were out of balance. Unbeknownst to the followers, the Obsidinate was a few hundred people away from swallowing all of the Crystaline’s creations. These kids were their last hope, or their impending doom.

And to think, all this started on a sunny afternoon, deep in a forest…
