Midnight

We all nervously sat on the floor ready to go. It was 11:50 and completely silent, nobody spoke...as if nobody took a breath. The only sound I heard was the metal clashing against the ground outside, it knew we were leaving soon, some how. Melanie said "maybe we should try another night...it's too close." Tim says "no we have been waiting weeks for this we aren't waiting anymore were ready." Taytum says "I don't feel good about this guys...were only 13 how are we going to defeat a huge metal monster?" Kate says "we can it's possible, I have been studying it for weeks now. It has gears in its neck arms and back. If we were too jam it then-" my older brother walks in "are you guys ok? The monsters really close, just seeing if you guys were safe" I hesitantly say "Y-Ya were fine just a little freaked out. Nothing we can't live with." He smiles and says "just be safe ok? Good night, guys." He smiles and shuts the door. Kate says "do you hear that?" Everybody stopped breathing and Tim said "no." Melanie and taytum said "Ya I don't hear anything." Kate says "exzacly I think it left." We all sighed in relief.

KATES POV
I stood up, terrified. I looked out the window expecting to see to big black eyes gazing back at me, but instead I saw a calm night with leaves gently swaying in the wind and the moon brightly shining. I felt calmer. I turned around and said "it's gone" everybody smiled and shuffled around uncomfortably.
