Leaving

KATE POV
My hands were trembling like an earthquake I couldn't stop it. I knew we were getting ourselves into trouble. More than trouble, a horrible gift awaiting for us to open it. I climbed out the window first with my back pack full of my most important things (water,food,and weapons) everybody had the same things as me. I was feeling horrible I knew I was going to die. But I was going to die trying to save my country from the nuclear war that will start if these things wernt gone. We needed to kill the boss of this whole thing. I knew that we would run into some of the smaller ones first. But it's just preparing us for the real fight we would do later on. Everybody came down just as terrified as I was, knowing they would die. We all were wearing black so we could blend in at night. We had a plan to call my brother (if the lines weren't down) and tell him after were far away from our safe warm home. Now...were out to the world, not safe and sound like we were before. Melanie shivers with fear and says "guys...if we die...before we tell Kate's older brother he will never know were dead and will come looking for us." I sigh taytum says "it's fine we won't. I promise. Besides KATES the only one with an older person in her house, it's only him we have to worry about." Tim says "guys lets go! It will track us and Brady (KATES older brother) won't be safe." "Right" I say in a trembling voice. Melanie's eyes were watering, she says "can we pass by the cemetery?" Everybody says ok and we start walking further and further into the darkness. Sounds of munching and metal scraping was on both sides of me. Everybody was silent. We all knew that if we talked we would be dead. I thought I my head "man...what did we get ourselves into?"
