"It is mine, how can you take it? Why would you take it? Please, please let me go! Let me go!!" Sylvia exclaimed while asleep at 2:30 AM.
"What is it Sylvia? You alright? Wake up!" Celeste said as she gently slapped Sylvia's cheeks to wake her up.
Sylvia sprang up from the bed, with frizzy hair wet with warm sweat.
"Frame your sentences while I fetch you water." Celeste said as she ran towards the kitchen. Sylvia covered her nose and mouth with cupped palms and was perturbed.
Celeste came with a glass of water and extended her hand towards her and asked
"So, what did you dream?"
Sylvia gobbled up the water as quick as she could and stared at Celeste for a couple of seconds.
"Everything feels virtual Celeste, I feel, this whole world, including me, is a delusion. It's like, I feel alive, but I feel that life is a void too. There is something wrong, something is really unreal within me, or around me. It was about that existence I dreamt about."
"Why were you pleading to be let gone then?"
" That being trapped me in its lethal love. I pleaded because it was asking for something which was mine, entirely mine. My soul." Sylvia said, with hot tears running down her cheeks.
"Hey, hey. Calm yourself down, it was just a mere nightmare, don't panic so much! Go to sleep now? I am right beside you." Celeste said as she pat her forehead and made her sleep. Both of the girls were deep asleep in no time.
-
"Stop it Celeste! You do sing well but never have I heard such mondegreen!" Sylvia yelled, with eyes half open and pillow covering her ears.
"I'll take that as a compliment!" Celeste laughed out loud.
"I've texted "Stag" from your mobile phone and told him about everything that happened. He'd be here any fraction of a minute." Celeste said while she took the pillow off her head.
"Let him....wait, what! " Sylvia said falling off the bed in amazement.
"You duck! Who asked you to tell him about the previous night? Hot damn!" Sylvia threw the pillow on her and rushed to the washroom.
After an hour the door bell rang, and Celeste was just about to leave the room to open the door while she saw Sylvia come out, removing tangles from her wet hair and signalling Celeste to sit down through her eyes. Celeste chuckled in her mind and sat back.
Sylvia went up to the door and peeped through the hole, and saw Stag adjusting his neatly tucked in shirt, making her fall in love unexpectedly high again. She opened the door and stood there, with both hands on the edge of the door, staring at him.
"What?" Stag said staring back.
"You look so dashing." Sylvia said holding his collar gently.
"All yours, ma'am! I'm in a hurry by the way, can we leave? I've a conference to attend. You're coming along to drop me."
"Why me?" Sylvia asked astonished.
"You are like a lucky charm wrapped around my neck, a priceless one i pull nearer each time I need love and luck."
"Pull nearer to harm your neck?" Sylvia asked moving away, turning her back. She was reminded of her terrible past, which Stag had a little idea about.
"No, to scare it with your amore which would be washed away." Stag said, hugging her from behind.
"I love you." Sylvia whispered into his heart.
"Forever." Stag said.
Sylvia smiled softly at him. She was wondering where Celeste had gone. "Might be in the washroom." She thought.
"Oh crab! I completely forgot, Sylvia, come quick!" Stag exclaimed as he hurriedly went down the stars, holding Sylvia's hand who was almost flying because of his pace.
They got in the ride and left for Stag's research centre.
"So, you texted me about a horrid nightmare?" Stag said while Sylvia rested her head on his shoulder.
"Celeste did. I swear I didn't want to trouble your moods with things like these." Sylvia apologized.
"What do you even mean by that? I had asked you to tell me everything about what happens to you." Stag said glaring at Sylvia.
"Okhay, Dr. Stegin..what's your surname?" Sylvia whispered to him jokingly.
"Wright." Stag giggled.
"Okhay, Dr. Stegin Wright. My apologies for not sharing my nightmare with you. But,do you know what happens when something as dark as the night falls upon sunshine?"
"A flawless eclipse, the world stares at."
Sylvia paused her movements. She was mum. Never had someone spoke that way ever to her. A tear of joy trickled down her cheek. She felt it was worth here, no matter how many fake people she tripped upon. She finally realised, she did trip to fall to this day, where she saw the world that was made for her. Because, there is a world your eyes see, and there's a world your heart feels.
Sylvia knew it, this time, it's the broken parts of her life that had let the sparkles crack through.
She thought ,you have to lose yourself at times, just to know where your soul escapes to.
"It escaped into you." She murmured.
