Sirah knelt before her father's corpse, looking deeply into his face for a sign of life. But her father laid still, his face etched with wrinkles, scars and blood.

Sirah couldn't do anything but look at him, the person she hated the most.

Her own father.

Sirah kept looking intently at him. She couldn't believe it. Believe the fact that he could die so easily. She never believed that he could die even with the world's most impending disaster but here he was.

Dead.

Cursed.
Because of his sinful mortal ways that took his life.

Everything was still. The only sounds that were heard were the cries among the silent clan.

No expression etched Sirah's face. Everything stood perfectly still for her. The images of her father whipping and slashing her with his belt, came before her eyes. Sirah could feel her heart beating to its calmest pace, she had never felt in her entire life. Because those pained moments were now her mere memories.
She was free. Free for the rest of her life. Free from the only abhorrent thing in her life, her father, forever.

Hands touched her shoulder.

"We're sorry for your loss."

Sirah's gaze was fixed at him. An allure of warmth spreading inside her.

'They don't know it.' Sirah thought, 'They don't know anything.'

A small smile spread on her face as she got up without looking back at him for a last glance and walked away.

Away from her worries, her terrors, her torment, her misery and her worst nightmare,

Her father.

Easily.

Very easily.
