I found a song quote that kinda suits it......
And I would've did anything for you
To show you how much I adored you
But it's over now,
It's too late to save our love
Just promise me you'll think of me
Every time you look up in the sky and see a star 'cuz I'm a
I'm a space bound rocket ship and your heart's the moon
And I'm aiming right at you, right at you
250,000 miles on a clear night in June
And I'm so lost without you, without you, without you

Mark Fisher POV
(Limited fan base goes yaaaaaay)
I think something snapped. Something major. I tried to sit up and the sheer pain of it all made me fall back down, writhing in agony. Even that hurt. So this is what a fracture feels like. I was honestly never the type of kid to play any full-contact sports like football or soccer. I kept to my tennis but dropped it when I decided to join the NYPD.
I tried a push-up and every lovin' part of my right arm, left leg, and torso screamed in pure, white-hot agony.
Then everything exploded into red.
I yelled, in tandem with my bones, and stood up. I felt no pain, surprisingly. It seemed like the animal was out and about again. I could see the bone protruding from my forearm. I gave it a hard chop and the bone went back inside my arm with a sharp crack like someone Apparating. Blood spurted out of my arm where the bone had penetrated the skin. All I thought was, My tattoo's gone. I really liked that one. That had Elise's picture on it. Not AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!  or anything like that. I stooped down and looked at the blood congealing on the sidewalk. It seemed oddly pale and I saw a translucent band of liquid and saw that it was adrenaline. Then, as if I had heard a starting gunshot, I sprinted off, down the blood-soaked road.
Elise POV
Shit.
We're surrounded. After that debacle before, we went to base and took our hour of downtime before kitchen duty. I spent mine crying my eyes out. I knew I had lost him. I had heard the stories and thought that they were just hype after he brutally killed those undead. But it was true.
All true.
After dinner(packaged sweet and sour chicken) we pitied the poor shmucks who had dish duty that night and went to our rooms to hit the sack. I saw a pool of clear liquid at the foot of my bed, and I realised with a jerk that it was a puddle of my own tears.
Sleep came slowly. Torturingly slowly. My dreams, troubled as they were, consisted of steel claws and chicken cubes. Guess I should have taken a second helping before Jolt bagged the last of it.

Morning came. I had to get up. Order is the only thing prevalent here. It's our glue. What keeps us together. Just then, the robust PA system blared. The system once helped commuters and holidayers get to where their trains.
Now it makes life-or-death announcements. 'Travis Byrd, Captain Esha Aphale and Elise Rogers, please report to the med bay immediately.' I caught Travis' eye and mouthed,"No breakfast?" He just jerked his head in the general direction of the med bay. I slugged him in the arm while going down on the stairs. "What the fudge was that for?" "No details, nothing, just go down! It's scrambled eggs today, for God's sake! And we have Shadow on kitchen duty!" Shadow's eggs were the stuff of legends. He makes them even better than my mom does. Or did, anyway. We stopped outside the door of our meagre med bay for just an instant before walking in. "Miss Rogers, so glad you could join us." Juline stood next to one of the beds. Marcel, our chief biologist, (who am I kidding? Our only biologist.) said, " We almost have a cure. I just need a sample of the virus for testing." "Then take them from the dead bodies." The words had escaped my lips before I was even thinking. I face palmed. "As Miss Rogers has understood, the virus is dormant in dead bodies. I need live tissue. The reason I did this before breakfast is so that you keep it."

We suited up, our gear already packed. All of us had been trained to keep supplies ready in case of invasion. I just had to toss on my combat clothing and equip my gear. We were all down at the front entrance of Grand Central, and I looked back at the imposing architecture. This is probably one of the last times I'm going to see it. A portable lab table was already out and loaded with enough instruments to bamboozle me. I never liked Chemistry back in grade school. We rolled out, Marcel's table quite literally, making strange noises all the way.
It seemed eerily quiet. We could see the dead bodies of all the undead we'd killed but, surprisingly, there were no living ones. We thought the place would still be crawling with them. For each sector that uneventfully passed, Captain Aphale's brow began furrowing more and more. We finally reached sector 13 and we were scouting the inner areas when I heard a voice that was really deep and raspy. Considering Travis sounds like a kid on helium, no one could have made that voice.
Except Marcel.
I whirled around, gun pointed at him. He yelled in shock," What the frack did I do!" Too high. I was about to apologize when I heard the voice again, saying," Die. Now." I turned 90 degrees and saw a rotting corpse staring at me.
That wasn't the worrisome part.
That honour went to the army of undead behind it.

Mark POV
I kept sprinting aimlessly, my brain just ordering my legs to keep running and not opening its internal maps section.
Of course, animals don't use maps.
My internal compass was broken. I took a right turn and suddenly heard voices, one of them familiar. "Why are there none here!" "I'm not a fracking zombie!" "Shut up!" "What the frack did I do!" And in a barely audible voice that said something like 'dry cow'. That probably won't be good for the dairy products industry. I ran towards the voices, wondering what plans were being made about the dairy industry.

Elise POV
We can't hold them off. There are too many. I cocked my rifle and pointed it at them, ready for a last stand. Captain Aphale and Travis also were ready with their weapons.
Suddenly, all hell broke loose in the rear of the army.

Mark POV
I rounded the corner and saw Elise, two guys and a woman, three of them with weapons drawn and ready. I knew, instinctively that they wouldn't make it.
Not without help.
The human exploded into my brain, giving me a cold sense of determination. But there was a sharp edge in it, something feral. This could mean one thing. The human and the animal were in sync with each other. Perfect fusion.
I jumped into the combat zone.
"Fire!" I shouted as I jumped into the ranks of the zombies.

I face-kicked one of them and watched him fall to the ground. I picked up one by the leg and spun him in a circle, knocking out several more. I leaped up into the air and landed on one of their shoulders, and jumping back off, the force of my leap sending him back. But I was holding its head. The spine broke and his head was still in my hands. I tossed it like a throwing weapon, headshotting another. I could hear continual cracks from Elise and her comrades' weapons. As I battled through the creatures, a stray bullet hit me. I yelled in pain, and an actual shock wave blasted them away from me. A purple fire surrounded me as I unlooped my last piece of equipment from my belt.
A grenade. I leaped up into the air and willed the energy in my body to flow into that piece of metal. It started glowing purple and then, I threw it on the ground.
The blast was probably heard for miles. The pure force of the explosion threw me away.
X----------------------------X
By pure happenstance, I landed next to Elise. She said worriedly, "Hang in there, you'll be okay! Just focus!" But my vision was already fading to black.......
