Faster, faster, FASTER! That’s all I remember thinking as we ran back to the camp. When we finally reached there I was out of breath. I admit I’m not a runner and that was pretty hard for me. I caught my breath and looked up. All you could see were orange flames. It looked like something out of a movie that makes you think “this is so fake! Never going to happen!” All I could think was it was a dream. A nightmare really. I ran into the fire not knowing where I was going but at that point I had one thing on my mind. Little Jack. What kind of sister would I be if I didn’t search for my brother in an emergency? A sucky sisters that’s what. I ran further into the flames and I could barely see. The flames weren’t touching as weird as it was. I couldn’t feel any burn on my body. Am I dead? Is this what it’s like when you’re dying? Even though the flames couldn’t hurt me that doesn’t mean the smoke couldn’t. My lungs started to give up and I was gasping for breath. I turned around to look for a way out. I couldn’t figure it out! I ran helplessly but it seemed as the flames had covered the Earth. Then I saw it. Tress that were juststarting to burn but there all the way. That meant that just ahead there was land with no smoke. The farther I ran the tireder I became but it didn’t matter when I saw the bright eyes of my little brother. I ran to him but when I was about 20 feet away I gave in. My body was done. I fell to the ground and saw everything fading away. Whiteness engulfed my vision until there was nothing.
I looked around until I saw something that caught my eye. It was a group of people surrounding someone. The closer I got that’s when I realized it. No! This can’t be happening! The person they were surrounding was me. I was looking at my body lying motionless on the ground. I tried to yell at them but there was response. That’s when it hit me. I was no longer that body lying on the ground. I was dead and in a different world.
