"Mommy what is it like to fly?" My daughter asks me in an innocent voice.
"Well it's like... what are your two favorite things?" I question.
"Chocolate! And ice cream!" She replies to quickly. "No wait, cake!"
I stop her before she can go on, knowing she'll just change her mind again. "What ever you choose, times that by a zillion and that what its like to fly."
She looks at me in awe and I remember the feeling of wind in my long brown hair. That gut wrenching feeling when you dive down faster and faster and dive up right before your about to crash. Chuckling softly, I even remember that terrible feeling when a bug flies straight at your face and lands with a splat.

Seven years earlier"Mary! Can you come here a minute and help me!" My mom calls from the kitchen. Groaning, I get up from my bed, causing my homework to scatter all over the floor. I stare at the papers for a few minutes before shrugging and walking away.
My mom stood in the kitchen juggling a bag and a glass jar in her hand. She turns her head to me as she walks in. "Here." She hands me the jar. "Hold this while I poor this in." I hold the jar up as she poors some sort of disgusting chunky liquid in it. The second she was done I throw down the can on the counter and get ready to walk away.
"Oh and honey let the dog in." I groan more as I walk away.
"Rusty!" I yell as I open the door. He doesn't come. "Rusty!" I try again.
I step outside thinking he's just refusing to come in. "Rusty you old geezer. It's dinner time!" I'm surprised he didn't come running as I yelled dinner. I'm about to go back inside when I hear a distant bar. Curious, I head towards that direction.
I finally find him by the old barn at the corner of the property. He was just staring at the corner of the bar. "Rusty come on. It's dinner time." He doesn't move. I stare at him waiting for anything.
His bark suddenly rings around the barn, scaring me. I move back a step with surprise, not watching where I was going. A sharp pain fills the right side of my head as I hit a hanging bucket with a loud bang. My body falls to the ground, finally causing Rusty to turn around. On the other side of him stood a small mouse.
"Good job Rusty." I make out as my vision turns black.

All colors of the rainbow cross through my eyes. Breathless, I look around. It was amazing.I feel a small prod at my leg and look down. What I saw shocked me. Before me stood a small mouse with glasses and a cane.
"Ah good your awake." It speaks with a certain wisdom in its voice.
I kick my leg out at the bein. It quickly runs away causing me to scream. Panicked, I get up on two legs.
"Sorry, that must of frightened you. I forgot your not from here. My apologies. I'm Cain." The small mouse put its paw out for me shake. That is when I completely lost it.
Before I know it, I'm running from that crazy mouse with his weird glasses. I seem to not make it far before I trip over a log and crash to the ground. Dazed, I stick my hand back out to feel fur beneath my fingertips.Mufling a scream I tilt my head up to see a familiar face.
"Rusty! I'm so glad your here. I saw the weirdest thing!" I start to pat at his fur. "There was a mouse, but he was wearing glasses." I'm starting to ramble on.
I hear a small noise, but don't make much of it. "What was that Rusty?" I question my dog. As I'm looking at him, he tilts his head to one side in question. I can't help, but think how cite he is. "Oh!" I exclaim. "You must want dinner. We should get home...But where are we?"
In response Rusty nudges my hand for me to follow. Getting up, I let him take lead.
We seemed to be walking for hours in what seemed like circles. It was like we were even more lost. Nothing seemed familiar.
"Rusty, I think we're lost." I stop to say. He nudges at my hand again, but this time I don't follow. A sharp bark sounds. I stand my ground. Annoyed, Rusty nips at my ankles which caused me to start going again.
It didn't take long before he stops in front of a large wall of vines. What was on the other side of that wall left me on awe. Before me stood a small stone cottage with a wooden door.
