Olivia POV
I woke up to silence all throughout my condo. That's how it's been since I found out August is a father.
Thank God today was Sunday, because I didn't feel like getting up or going to work. I just wanted to stay home and chill.
I haven't talked to August since that night, which was 2 days ago.
I'm sure him and Nia are doing just fine with their child.
It's not that I'm soft or "too nice".
I just can't compete with that. They have history, and a child together. Me trying to get in between that would be over stepping my boundaries.
I thought about quitting, about giving up on our relationship, but our love and connection is too damn strong for me to let go of a good man because of his baby mama.
I was gonna be strong and deal with this, but right now, I needed some time away from all of that.
My phone was buzzing, so I reached over to grab it, reading the screen.
It was a reminder of a hair appointment I scheduled a few weeks ago for 2 o'clock.
"Damn" I mumbled.
I didn't really want to go, but maybe getting slayed by my boo Draya would help distract me from all this mess.
I hopped in the shower, washing up and getting out. I lotioned my whole body with some new Shea butter I purchased, which made my skin so silky and smooth.
Pandora was playing all the right songs as I danced and got dressed.
Practice by Drake was blaring through my speakers.
I slipped my panties on, and then my bra.
"Girl you look good won't you back that ass up" I sung along, shaking my butt in the mirror.
I slipped on some jeans and a pink shirt. I put on my sandals and grabbed my purse, phone, and shades.
I walked past Aug's condo, and a feeling of sadness came over me. I miss him so much. Maybe I'll stop by when I get back and show him my new hair.
I hopped in my car and was on my way to the salon when my phone rang.
"Hello?" I answered without looking at the Caller ID.
"Hey baby" I smiled, making a turn.
"Hey grandma"
"How you been?" She asked.
"I've been doing okay. I've thought a lot about what you said a few weeks ago."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes ma'am. I didn't know it then, but those words are what keep me going everyday" I smiled as tears streamed down my face.
"That's good. But baby, why are you crying?"
I rolled my eyes at the fact that she knew I was, even when she couldn't see me.
The power a grandmother has is a beautiful thing.
"I'm just overwhelmed with life right now, but I'll be fine grandma, I promise"
"Okay, I'm praying for you"
"Thank you. I'll talk to you later."
"Alright"
I turned into the parking lot and fixed my face before going inside.
"Oh my god, is that Olivia Miller?" Draya yelled and ran over to me. I laughed and we hugged.
"Hey Draya"
"It's been so long! How you been?"
I smiled and took a deep breath.
"Oh lord, we need to catch up. Girl come, sit" I sat down in her chair, and looked around noticing the shop was empty today.
"You're my only appointment today" she commented, noticing me looking around.
"Aww, I feel special" I placed a hand on my chest.
She washed and deep conditioned my hair as I told her about my lawyer opportunity and job and the firm.
"Damn girl, you doing big things"
I nodded.
"Speaking of doing big things, you're all over the media now." She smirked.
"Oh gosh"
"Bitch you date August Alsina! That's crazy! How did that happen?"
"Well, when I first met him I didn't even know who the hell he was" we both laughed as she massaged oil into my curls.
"But, we met when I was at a low place in my life, I was in a toxic relationship. And he helped me get through that. I guess somehow I just fell for him" I smiled, thinking of how me and August first started out.
"Damn, that sound like some lifetime shit" she added.
"So, you want anything different today?" She asked.
I stared in the mirror, looking at my big curls.
"I want it straightened."
"Okay"
She began de tangling my hair, and that shit hurt Foreal.
"Actually Draya....I want some highlights" I added.
"No problem girl"

I looked in the mirror at my new look. (Olivia in the mm)
I looked good.
I pulled up and parked, heading to August's condo.
I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
He opened it, not recognizing me.
"Mill?"
"Hey" I smiled.
"You lo.....damn" he mumbled, causing me to blush.
He leaned in to hug me but we were interrupted by Nia.
"Oh, hey Olivia" she smiled.
"Hi"
"New hair?" She asked.
I nodded, smiling.
"What kind?"
"Excuse me?"
"Brazilian? Malaysian?" She said, smiling.
"This is all my hair" I said, frowning.
"Oh" she laughed. "August? Will you come help me feed our daughter?" She said, looking directly at me. I guess she was trying to hurt me, but I wasn't going to let her get the best of this situation.
"Oh, aight" he mumbled. "You wanna come in?" I shook my head no.
"I just wanted to show you my new hair, you can come by my place late though" I smiled. He looked me up and down and smirked.
"Word?"
I bit my bottom lip, winking at him. I pulled him close, kissing him. I felt Nia watching us, so I decided to give her a show. I licked his bottom lip, sucking it. He stuck his tongue in my mouth as we both tilted our heads to get better access.
"Damn" he mumbled. "I miss you"
"I miss you too" I smiled, waving before walking out.
She may have his baby, but I have his heart, and I wasn't gonna let this bitch get the best of me.
