Waking up that morning Carla sighed wrapping the blanket further around her. It was a cold November morning, a few weeks had gone by since she told Peter. She was beginning to wake up earlier and earlier in the mornings, feeling just as bad as she had done the previous night and this morning was no different. Rolling across to see Peter she sighed again upon discovering he was still fast asleep.
"Darlin'?" She whispered, wrapping her arms around him. "Please wake up." She muttered to herself, leaning her head against his sleeping body. She still wasn't to sure how she felt about this all. It seemed to be happen so suddenly and quickly. Never had she ever thought she would want kids, never mind actually consider having them. Yet she supposed it was inevitable. At least with Peter, they seemed to be in a stable relationship - something which made the whole ordeal seem slightly less scary.

"Peterrr.." Carla whined kicking him lightly under the duvet with her foot. She had been up now for nearly half-an-hour yet Peter still showed no sign of awakening. Groaning she sat up from the bed before wondering through to the small kitchenette Peters flat came equipped with. "That's something else we need.. a new house!" Carla mumbled under her breath, as she began filling the kettle full of water. "We are not bring a baby up in this tiny excuse of a house." She continued, grabbing the jar of coffee before adding a few generous spoonfuls of the powder to her mug.
"Just like mummy should not be drinking that coffee." Peter spoke, emerging from the bedroom door. "Especially not at this hour. What ya doing up darlin'?" He asked walking forward a few steps to wrap his arms around her.
"It's decaf sweet'eart, don't worry I'm not that dumb." She smiled turning around in his arms to face him. "I couldn't sleep and since sleepin' beauty at't other end of the bed insisted on doing exactly that, I thought I'd get up and try finish some work."
"Carla, it's half past four in the morning love. Come back to bed ey? Or I'll have to take ya back myself, and then there will be no escaping." He teased, bowing his head slightly to plant a series of kisses along her forehead.
"Mm that might not be such a bad thing. My husband chains me to the bed. Not only is that picture turning me on way more than it should, ya could probably make a best seller outta that y'know."
"Doesn't look as if I have a choice then." Smiling Peter lifted her small body into his arms. "What my pregnant wife wants, is what my pregnant wife gets." It didn't take long for Carla to fall back fast asleep, nor did it take Peter any longer. They didn't get any further than a few kisses before Carla managed to drift off, but that didn't matter to either of them. For the first time, in a long time, in their relationship the couple were both happy. At least that's how it looked from the outside..
