Normal POV,
"Alright team, I am your coach. Lets start of with seeing what positions you guys are going for." Coach said. "First up, Miles Prower" Coach said. "You can just call me Tails" Tails said. "Alright Tails, what position are you going for?" Coach asked. "Wide receiver" Tails replied. "Okay. Next up, Manic The Hedgehog" Coach said. "Right here" Manic said. "What position?" Coach asked. "Halfback" Manic said. "Okay. Next up, Shade The Hedgehog" Coach said. "Quarterback" Shade said. "Okay. Next up, Shadow The Hedgehog" Coach said. "Fullback" Shadow said. "Okay. Next up, Silver The Hedgehog" Coach said. "Tight End" Silver replied. "Okay, Next up, Sonic The Hedgehog" Coach said. "Wide Receiver" Sonic responded. The Coach went trough the others and them split up them up into two groups, linemen and backs and receivers. all the receivers got in a line and the corners made a line across from them. Sonic was the first person in line so he went first. Shade told him to do a slant route and he did. He used his super speed so Shade threw behind Sonic. Sonic saw that so he leaned back catching the ball one-handed and fell backwards.
Shades POV,
I can't tell if Sonic did that on purpose to show off or he's just not thinking. "Show off!" I yelled out to him. He snickered and got on line. Now Tails was up. I told him to do a curl route and he did. I threw the ball and hit him dead in the hands. He dropped it........... I kinda got a little frustrated. "You can't catch them all" I said as nicely as possible. He went the end of the line. Well in this case Tails couldn't catch any of the passes I threw to him. Its like he playing the wrong.........position........ "Hey Tails? Can you go into the cornerback line?" I asked "Sure....... Why?" Tails asked. "I'm trying to test something out." I replied. Now Tails is lined up right across from Silver, lets see how this goes. Now I gave Tails the easiest route to cover, verticals. Silver took off and Tails was right there with him. It didn't look like Silver was going to get a step on him so I just thew it up to him. The ball was perfectly in the path of Silver's hands and he was about to catch it when Tails went up and swatted it down. "Wrong position!" I yelled out to Tails. Just then Coach called us in for a water break. Silver picked up his water bottle and started drinking it. Just then I sneaked up behind him and dunked on him. The whole team was ecstatic. I chuckled and sat down on the bench. In the corner of my eye I noticed six girls walking on the sidewalk next to the field. "Hey, isn't that Amy, Blaze, Cream, Hero, Naomi, and Twilight?" I asked Sonic. "Yeah, I think it is. Wanna go pay them a visit?" He replied. "Race you there." I told him as I took off. He was right beside me since we basically are even in speed. "Hi Shade!" Twilight said as soon as she saw me. "Hola!" I replied. "Hey Sonic!" Amy said. "Hey Ames-Uh Amy!" Sonic said nervously. "Hey wait, wasn't Hero just here" I piped up and said. "Yeah, she hiding behind me, she's just shy" Blaze said. Hero walked out from behind Blaze and said, "Hello......" very quietly. As soon as she said that Silver came up behind me and dunked on me. Then he tripped, into Blaze, and they both fell.............. Nice job................
Normal POV,
Blaze and Silver both blushed madly. "Uhhhh, I'm so sorry Blaze" Silver said as he struggled to get off her. "It's okay, you didn't mean to" Blaze replied as she continued to blush. They both got up and brushed themselves off. Dead silence.......... "Awkward Silence" Shade said to himself. "So, who's the fastest person on the team?" Naomi asked. "I am!" Shade and Sonic both said. "No it's me!" They both said. "So, how are we going to settle this?" Twilight asked. "Back and forth down the field?" Shade asked Sonic. "You're on!" Sonic said back. "Ready? Set. Go!" Amy said. In two seconds they came back. "Done!" Shade and Sonic said. "Oh come on!" They both said simultaneously. Right after that Coach blew his whistle. "Well, you guys better get going" Amy said. "Goodbye!" Cream said. Shade, Sonic, and Silver headed back to the team. Practice went on for another hour and the team did the same drills as last time. At the end, Coach called them in for a final huddle. "Alright team. I saw some great things and some great effort out there today. It will be hard for me to make decisions of who is going to make the team. Tomorrow, The names of who made the team will be posted in the main lobby of the school. I look forward to seeing most of you tomorrow. Alright, hard work on three. Coach said. "One, two, three, hard work!" The team said.
