Christmas Break
Justin's POV
"Please? Can we please go?" Sarah looked innocent with her eyes like a puppy and her bottom lip poked out.
But I'm in control here. And I said no.
"You know how I feel about ice-skating babe. I suck at it. I said no." I replied.
Babe. Baby. Sweetheart. Honey.
I love calling her those.
She whined again, "Please Justin? I've never been and I just really wanna go. It looks so fun!"
"Don't lie. We went for your 10th birthday."
She pouted, batting her eyelashes at me.
I looked down at her once last time before finally giving in.
"Fine. But I'm not going."
"But why? I will help you." She was whining again.
"I hate ice-skating and you know that."
"I promise you'll be fine, idiot. If that's why you won't go anymore then you're a bigger coward than I thought you were." Sarah challenged.
We grabbed our skates that were both housed in Sarah's closet and got into the car. My mom drove us to Rockefeller Center.
Once we arrived, I shook my head at the turnout of people. Just enough enough people to make a complete fool of myself in front of.
Two little kids spun around singing a dopey little song and one attempted a twirl but landed on the ice.
I winced, recalling why I didn't like the sport. It was Sarah's 10th birthday party and we went ice-skating. I slipped and fell over another kid and their skate came crashing down on my chest. It left a big ugly cut from the skate's blade. The scar is still there.
It traumatized me so bad I never went again.
"I'm not cowering, I'm just... traumatized." I defended myself.
"Aww poor Justin. Boo hoo he slipped and got scratched five years ago." She mocked.
"Oh whatever. I'll show you."
I felt a little confident but a voice in my head was screaming 'bad idea J!' I should really start listening to it. Not listening has really got me in a lot of deep shit lately. Maybe I should see somebody about that.
"Are you even listening to me?" Sarah slapped my arm.
"Uh-huh." No.
"What did I say?"
"Something about food or..." I trailed off. I honestly had no idea what she said. I was too busy focusing on how I'm gonna pull off ice-skating after five years.
"Okay well don't listen if you want but I hope you hear me when I say Tracie is coming our way." She scoffed.
My eyes widened at the only thing I understood out of what she said and that was that Tracie is here and walking to us.
"Hey sugarplum." She greeted me.
I scratched the back of my neck. I guess I kinda forgot to tell everyone about Sarah and I. And I damn sure wasn't about to start now. Especially as I'm stuck between the two of them.

Aléatoire"Justin... I didn't know you were going here!?" I was practically startled at the fact that my childhood best friend is going to be attending UCLA with me. It had been way to long. And the last time I saw him was that night... "Yea. I've missed you...
