The Courtyard

I head to the courtyard which is where I usually spend my break times. Me and my friends always meet up there and usually something interesting happens like last Tuesday, this boy called Jonah got into a fight with another boy that was twice his size but Jonah won! We all thought he was toast but it turns out he had been taking martial arts lessons so knew how to punch.

As I walk into the courtyard, I am greeted by lots of shouts of my name and a hug from my best friend Sophie.

"Where have you been?" she asks me as we walk to the rest of the group.

"Oh nowhere, just got out a little late." (I couldn't exactly say that I had just spent time with a really cute sixth former that said I was beautiful and we really hit it off could I?)

"That's well unfair of the teacher, you should've just walked out when the bell went." Sophie had always been the rebel, no one can keep her from doing what she wants. She always listens to what I have to say but if at the end of the day she doesn't agree, she will just go ahead and do what the hell she pleases.  She's also pretty blunt and there seems to be no filter when she talks so can come across as a bit of a bitch to those that aren't used to her ways. But she always makes me laugh with her crude humour and extravagant gestures, we have been friends for years and tell each other everything...well almost. She can be a bit of a blabber mouth so I keep the really private stuff to myself for safe keeping.

We reach the group and I am instantly absorbed into the conversations being had. In the group is a bunch of my closest friends. Next to me is Julie and Leon, holding hands with her leaning into him.  Round from them is Jacob, then Grace, Elizabeth, Callum, Aiden and finally Sophie. We are always together and have so much fun, they are like my other family.

Julie and Leon are literally the cutest couple ever, I met them both in year 9 and at first they hated each other, but it seems opposites really do attract. Jacob is tall, athletic and is never single for long, I think this is the longest he has gone without having a girl friend since year 2, and its only been two weeks! Grace is lovely, she is bubbly and always knows what to say when your upset and Elizabeth can be a little obsessed with looking perfect but is a right joker, she is very intelligent and is in most of my classes. Callum is really into computing and science, he always manages to come up with some random fact for us to all laugh about. Aiden is the quiet one but is possibly the nicest boy I have ever known even if he is a little cheeky sometimes.

As the bell sounds to end break, I say goodbye to all my friends and head to my next class thinking how lucky I am.
