RAJ

We're headed out of the police station and I can't take this silence any longer.

"Lilac sweetie I'm so sorry this happened. You'll never see Saline again. Are you OK?"

I say pulling her into an embrace.

"I'm a little shaken up  but I'm fine."

"Good let me drive you home."

"Hell nah she ain't going anywhere with you cuz. I'm taking her home!"

Luke breaks in between Lilac and me. He's going to get enough of putting his hands on me.

"I'm her boyfriend. I'm her driver."

I grab Lilac's arm and proceed to my car, but she snatches it away.

"I'm not going with you."

"That's right bae. Come with me!" Luke shouts in triumph

"I'm not going with you either! I'm not going with any of you. Stop treating me like some prize because you lose. I'm riding with Jessie."

Those words pierced my heart like a dagger. I am her boyfriend so I should be the one taking her home. I didn't mean it like that. I just want to make sure she's safe and now this jerk luke interjects with

"That's cool. As long as you're not with this guy." He points to me

I've had enough.

"Did something happen last night Lilac?"

"A lot of stuff happened..."

"Shut up Luke!" Lilac cuts him off. Now this is suspect.

"There's something you're not telling me! Did you two make up last night? Is that it? Are you back together now? I'm the third wheel here right? You're a cheater I don't want to be in the same car with you anyway."

With me being in no mental state to drive. I sped off. Trying not to see Lilac's incredulously distraught face stuck in my head.

LUKE

I didn't appreciate Raj falsely accusing Lilac like that. When he hauled ass, Lilac had an emotional melt down and there was nothing I could do because she wouldn't even let me touch her.
I told my sister to just drive safely which she did because they're back on campus. Lilac has been avoiding both me and Raj. It's been a week since all this shit happened,  and I think it's about time we talk things out.

"Hey curry powder!" He looked around to see who I was talking to. Like there's nobody else You not funny "yeah im talking to you."

"And to what do I owe this pleasure.?"

Sarcastic ass. Lilac needs a real niqqa like me.

"Ok stop the bs. I came here to settle this once and for all. Let's go to Lilac together and see who she chooses. Straight from the source."

I can tell he's thinking it over. Then he inquires
"Time and date."

"7 tonight."

LILAC

Jessie and I are supposed to be going to the skating rink tonight at 7 for a girls night out to get my mind off of...things. Finals are starting tomorrow so I really can't afford to do this but hey YOLO.
"Jessie remind me not to ever let you dress me again."

"Bish please. We look hot."

"No, we look like those video vixens in rae sremmurd throw sum mo."

"Hell yeah we on roller skates and everything." Jessie says between outfits of laughter.

"Wait no it's like in ATL."

"Roll Bounce in this bih."

We both dying laughing. We skate for a while. Which I'm surprised that I'm doing so well. I only busted my ass once tonight, and I haven't skated since middle school. The colorful lights look all psychedelic and illuminate the dark room. The music is hot. I'm turning up and I finally forget about my messy love life.

"Shit I'm sweaty. Let's cool down and get something to eat."
Jessi makes her way to the food bar and I sit down at a nearby table. I look down, examining how bad my pit sweat bled through my shirt when I notice two figures sat down with me. Embarrassed, I look up.

"What are you two doing here?"
I looked back to see Jessie who is avoiding eye contact. She rigged this ish!

"We have to ask you one question Lilac." Luke sounds earnest for a change.

"What is it?"

"Who do you choose?"

I'm completely taken off guard. If i had tea i would've choked. I look for any sign of joking but there is none. Holy crap. You expect me to-  what the-

"You want an answer now?"  Like really niqqa

"Yes I think we deserve one." Raj solemnly replied

That really hit home. I thought seriously about it. I had been for the last week and always came back to the same conclusion.
"I don't know."
