The cafeteria was in the shape of a square and situated in the heart of the school. Designed as a upside down step pyramid, each step eight feet across with tables situated on these steps. Surrounding the outside part of the steps was a fence covering everywhere except the center of each quadrant. In the center of the cafeteria the serving lines were laid out one after another creating a small maze of serving lines. The cafeteria also had a tile floor and octagonal tables.
I walked towards a corner table that was unoccupied and situated in the middle layer. It was secluded enough that in all the years prior I'd never once been disturbed there. So when I noticed a pair of wings my mind went on autodrive and before even I knew it, I was behind the mystery person with serrated feathers ready to slice a key nerve should it be needed.
"Woah, woah, woah, I just came to see if you wanted some company." my wings relaxed realizing it was just Castelia , and I went back to the seat I was initially going to sit in. Not looking up I responded to the obvious question. "Sorry, I was acting out of reflex." the surprised look on Castelia's face turned to a quizitive one. "I didn't mean to pry, but after what Miss Ophunè said, and hearing about you getting ambushed in the halls, I was concerned." My teeth clenched and I could feel my teeth extending into fangs in anticipation of the upcoming inquiry. "What did miss Ophunè mean when she said you'd been cursed?"
