[ written on a tear-stained paper ]
my mother once told me:
daughter, be careful of men
who smiles all the time, and
does everything to make you
happy.my mother once told me:
daughter, be careful of men
whose mouths spill nothing
but lies, who manipulates you
till you become an imbellic ghost.my mother once told me:
daughter, be careful of men
with hatred in their hearts,
whose eyes go dark when
the wrong words enter their ears.yet she never did once warn
me of the kind-hearted men,
who cares for your welfare and
your grades, whose authenticity
and professionalism would sweep
you off your feet.why, mother? i was prepared for
the nice men, the mean men, and
the abusive. but not this.
