Crap! The lake's to far away. I can't die I have to live.  I...have...to....live...

"Oi! You there! Ya a'right?" The man's accent was strong and quite irritating.

"Jeb!" I screamed punching him in the arm. "Don't scare me like that again or I will kill you."

"Sorry but you been knocked ou' fo' a day." Jeb sheepishly rubbed the back of his bald, tattooed head.

"Oh...5 more minutes." I replied curling up into a ball and closing my eyes.

I heard a sigh. I felt my body being lifted up into strong arms. Obviously I cried out and punched my attacker in the face.

Oh. It was just Jeb.

He gave me a glare that could kill. I smiled sheepishly and closed my eyes again, waiting for sleep to overtake me.

"Now we won't be having any of that nonsense, Ellii. Jeb, drop her." A familiar voice that I knew all too well said.

My eyes popped open, mouth opening to stop Jeb from doing it but I was too late. He dropped me head first into the Black Pit. Of course I screamed and I knew I was dead, but I waited a few seconds longer before I respawned next to Ann my hair dripping with water.

"That was a dirty trick Ann. I swear I will kill you. You too Jeb." I flipped both of them off and stomped off into headquarters looking for Benny.

Ugh! Why does Ann get to be the leader, she's such a bully! I thought walking down the corridor, still not finding Benny.

"Alright Benny where the heck are you?" Of course no one answered. I was starting to feel rejected by my fellow agents.

Benny finally showed up sweating pinballs. His glasses were falling off his nose. Benny was practically the biggest geek in the entire world. Sadly no one except his friends knew it.

"'Ello mate! Heard you we're callin' me." Benny says with his Australian accent.

"Yeah. I need you to fix my shower. Now!" I shouted very annoyed.

"Ah I see. Jeb threw you down the Pit." Benny didn't even flinch at my tone of voice which somehow annoyed me even more.

"No I just decided to go for a swim in the middle of the night. Of corse he threw me down the pit! Now I'm soaking wet so fix it!" I was very angry and I very much wanted to throttle someone. Benny must've realized this cause he high tailed it out of there off to fix my shower. I hoped.

"Oi! Ellii! Get over here now we need you to get to the Syringe Station." Ann's voice cut through all noise in Feather Throw. I sighed and kept walking I did not want to go there. Plus I was quite mad at Ann and did not want to talk to her. Of course she didn't give me a choice but I can dream.

"Sit your bum down. Don't act cute. Just don't. Good girl. Now give me your arm. No the other one. Good girl. In goes the needle and...there we go. Thank you. Alrighty now- your acting cute what did I say about that? That's what I thought. Now you were unconscious for 24 hours hmm? Yes good. I will advise you to..." Nurse Buggon rattled on for about another hour or so stopping occasionally to let me nod or shake my head. She did eventually let me leave but I'm pretty sure the amount of blood in my body had just dropped to below half the normal amount.

It's probably life threatening how much blood she takes from the arms of her victims. I shudder at the thought.

I passed Benny in the hall. Which got me to remember my shower.

"Hey! Benny," I called." you fixed my shower yet?"

He just nodded, staring straight ahead. I raised my eyebrow at him. He didn't even blink.

Okay what's wrong with him? I thought. This was not like Benny. But I'm too tired and wet to really care at the moment.

Oh well. It's not my funeral.

I reached my room, quickly took a shower, got dressed, and headed out to look at the job board.

I saw there was large crowd gathered around it. Ugh! Come on I just want to take a job.

"Hey! Move people! I actually want a job." I pushed past the crowd to see why everyone was crowded around.

My eyes widened in shock as I saw the mutilated body on the ground. I put a hand to my mouth as I recognized who it was.

It was Benny, and he wouldn't be regenerating anytime soon.
