Good bye

Our love broke my heart,

and ended yours.

But believe me when I say, I only wanted you to stay.

And now I take the burden of a heavy heart across my chest,

a broken crest around my neck.

I guess it's true when they say, that only the good ones go,

and you were the absolute best.

All there should be is white roses and snow,

the smell of lovely rain assaulting our nose,

play fighting and stealing kisses,

all over the body for sure,

loving, loving, loving,

what is love?

I don't even know.

Is it giving up on who you love?

Is it never letting go?

Someone please tell me because I feel so alone.

You're hands faded from my life like the wind in summertime,

Damian, I love you.

Oh, how I love you so.

But I knew it would only end in heartache, and a piece of me -- if not all -- went with you.

I know it to be true.

And I love you as much as I could -- good bye.

For the very last time.

Since the day you died.
