Yeah!" Bryan screams, before crashing into Alisha's pool. Waves of water surround him like a clear blue crown, before the they drop heavily on Alisha and I."What the hell? " Alisha yells.
I'm pissed too because Bryan cannon-balled at the edge of the pool where we were walking, when there was 500 square feet of pool that he could've chosen instead. I'm still wearing my favorite black Gucci shorts which are now clinging onto my legs like a second skin.
Ugh. Bryan can be such an idiot.
I turn around and slide my shorts down, setting them on the table to dry. When I turn back around I find Brandon staring at me intensely. Usually I'd blush but I'm so ticked off at his life choices--meaning Eva-- that I ignore him and walk over to the pools edge, sitting down on the short stretch of blue and white tile surrounding it.
I watch out of the corner of my eye as his eyes follow me. Then I see the outline of of Eva's deep red Victoria Secret bikini clad body touch Brandon's arm.
Brandon turns his attention back to his girlfriend.
I sigh, rolling my neck around slowly then tilting my face up at the sun. Half of the big yellow ball is covered with a cloud, but it's rays still filter through, making it look like the heavens are calling you.
I let my neck drop slowly, back down at the water. My legs slide through it, making delicate ripples.
Out of the corner of my eye, I see Brandon glance at me again. Then he back to Eva...
Again.
God.
Eva's presence is not welcome. Not just to me for obvious reasons, but I can sense the slight annoyance in everyone else too.
Like earlier when Jack and Bryan were wrestling, and Eva was yelling at them to stop. She even tried to get Brandon to make them stop too.
Eva didn't seem to get that that's just what boys do.
And also, when I was walking by earlier and Alisha slapped my butt. Everyone laughed but Eva whispered to Brandon loud enough for everyone to hear,"Are they lesbians? Ew."
I knew Eva was just trying to insult me because she just doesn't like me, but before Brandon could reply Alisha whipped around. "No we aren't, but even if we were why would you act disgusted? What's wrong with lesbians? Actually no, my real question is what the hell is wrong with you?"
Eva didn't talk again for a whole ten minutes. What a record!
But I think I liked her better talking, because at least she wasn't whispering in Brandon's ear giggling, like she is right now.
I roll my eyes and get up from the pool's smooth edge. Glancing at Alisha's house I contemplate going inside for a snack, but I'm not hungry.
Instead I make my way towards Alisha's silver and black diving board and climb. Midway up I look down, about twenty-five feet off the ground. Valeria and Alisha are lounging together on one cabana, drinking spiked Jamba Juice smoothies.
Micheal and Sadie are flirting together at the side of the pool, Jack and Bryan are in the middle of the pool shooting water at each other with Nerf Guns, and Brandon and Eva are sharing a cabana at the far side of the pool.
I stare at Brandon. His hair looks a little damp and he doesn't have a shirt on. I can trace the lines of his yummy abs--even from up here--and he's wearing loose red trunks that match Eva's suit.
