Hey! So I started writing this three hours before New Years and I'm hearing New Years resolutions left and right. I just wanted you to know that you don't ever have to wait till New Year's to start changing for the better. You can start fresh every single day.

Make sure to watch the YouTube video before reading.

Oh and of course,"I'M SORRY FOR ANY AND ALL MISTAKES!!!" ;)

I catch the grape in my mouth and surprised noise erupts around me. I smile biting into it, loving the juice that spills into my mouth. I get up off my knees, taking off the soft blindfold. Together, Alisha and I march up to Bryan.

"Sixty bucks,"Alisha demands.

I hold my hand out. Bryan sighs and pulls out his beat up navy wallet. He barely puts it in my hand before I snatch it. Serves him right for questioning a girls ability to catch anything.

I split the money with Alisha and shove mine into my purse.

Sadie laughs."You guys are all ridiculous."

I smile."Who wants to go to the bathroom to freshen up?"

Jack laughs looking at Alisha,"Why are we never invited? Sometimes us guys need to freshen up too. Especially when you girls look so goddamn hot tonight." He doesn't break eye contact with Alisha.

Everyone laughs and Alisha's eyes lower bashfully. I'm still holding the soft makeshift blindfold which was really an Armani tie. The girls start making their way towards the bathroom. Valerie holds my hand as we walk but I tell her I'll be there in a second and so she let's go.

I take a detour looking for Brandon. As I search, I admire the job the Party Committee did. In a school like Bankerston High, school parties are go big or stay at home. Tonight isn't an exception. Especially because our school won the Homecoming game and  everyone's spirits are high.

This year's party is called Fall's Diamonds.

There are seven huge and bright chandeliers dangling above us and the lights are dimmed so the chandeliers had all the attention. The floor is made of white marble and there are no tacky orange posters that had badly drawn turkey on them.

There is just one big white cloth poster at the entrance that had the words 'FALL DIAMONDS', stitched onto it in big burgundy letters. The poster itself looked like silver and black diamonds were scattered all over it.

There were also about one hundred candles on the walls, each emitting the dancing scent of fall pumpkin spice.

A huge, light-wood table runs along the whole side of the room that holds lots of food which I can't wait to try.

The only thing that gives away it's a High School party is the young adult music.

The girls and I got ready at Valerie's house. Her mom's obsessed with her looks. She does hair and makeup for models before they walk the runway so we begged her an she ended up helping us with ours.

I was wearing a Dior black dress with lace running down the middle. It was form fitting but still comfortable. I paired it with small dangling diamond earrings. Valerie's Mom, Kelly added volume to my hair and put barely noticeable low lights. She also put dark, bold makeup on my eyes and light pink lip gloss on my lips.

She made the rest of us girls look hot too.

"Hey." I hear behind me.

I know who it is before I turn around and Brandon smiles back at me.

"Where have you been?" I punch his chest.

He gestures behind him at the football guys."The guys wouldn't stop praising me about the touchdown."

"Well how could they stop? We won because of you!"

He laughs but shakes his head humbly,"I wouldn't have without Jack taking that Bomber guy down, I think number 29? He was twice my size. If he had touched me it would be over."

I cringe not wanting to think about that."I'll have to thank him for that."

Brandon nods."So who were you looking for?" And for some reason I hear jealousy.

"Um, what do you mean?"

He holds eye contact with me as he slides his hands into his pockets. "Your hazel eyes were running around the room looking for something. I want to know what." He steps closer to me.

"I was looking for you." I reach into my purse.

He looks surprised."Why?"

I pull out his tie and he smiles"Oh". I giggle and start tying it around his neck.

"You smell great."

I glance up."Thank you," I pause,"Alisha and I won by the way...the bet I mean."

"Of course. Bryan should've known better"

I finish up his tie."That's maybe the most romantic thing you've ever said to me..." I pat his chest when I finish."I have to go." I say remembering that I ditched the girls on the way to the bathroom.

The song changed from dub-step song to a Birdy song. Something pretty about angels.

Brandon calls me back."Do you want to dance?"

I don't even respond before he pulls me to him.

I smile and we start moving together. His eyes never leave mine and we sway together gently. His hands are on my waist and mine is wrapped around the sides of his neck.

He spins me around twice. We start moving faster as the song is ending.

 One-two-three-four. One-two-three-four.

Birdy sings the last few words and he dips me and slowly. The song finishes and he pulls me right back up.

He whispers in my ear,"You're beautiful."

I smile as step out of his arms, afraid I might attack him right there on this white marble dance floor.

"You're an angel." I say. I kiss his cheek then I walk away.

As I do I notice people staring and realize they must have been watching us as we were dancing. They silently move out of my way as I pass.

I sigh and glance back at Brandon. He's grins back at me before the crowd moves, clouding my view of him.

It irritates me that people were watching. I'm very selfish with moments like that and it's like I can't be. I'm the center of attention all the time, and I can't keep anything to myself.

Now, that dance isn't mine and Brandon's anymore. It's the whole school's memory of two of most popular people in school being 'sweet' together on the dance floor.

People need to focus on their own lives.

I storm into the hallway that leads to the bathroom and I spot Sadie and Valerie hovering over Alisha right in front of the bathroom door. I hear sobbing.

I panic."Alisha?"

She looks up."Jessica!" She gets up from the red couch and her heels click-clack to me. Valerie and Sadie are close behind her.

"What the hell? Who did this?"

She just silently wraps her arms around me and doesn't let go.

Song Of the Chapter:

"How unfair, it's just our love

Found something real that's out of touch

But if you'd searched the whole wide world

Ho oh oh would you dare to let it go?"
