Mercedes Kelly

"Hey mama." I spoke as I sat on the island counter watching her cook something on the stove.

"Don't hey mama me. This is what we're doing now?" She turned around and hit me with the cooking utensil.

"Ouch. What are you talking about? What I did?" I rubbed my arm frowning.

"You know what the hell you did! We're sleeping with football players now?" She turned around and powered the stove iron off.

"Where the f- I mean what are you talking about?" I asked looking at her crazy.

"Girl, you're all on TMZ, Sports Center, the shade room. All that boo."

TMZ and the Shade Room never seems too impress me more. I could be famous and picking up my little cousin from daycare and they'll claim I have a child. I just wish that they'll think before they speak.

"I didn't sleep with him and why are you believing everything from social media. No." I rolled my eyes going in the refrigerator.

"Sometimes you have to. I know your sneaky ass be doing stuff without me knowing." I scrunched up my face and gave her a look.

"Last time I checked I was grown." I scoffed tapping my nails on the island.

"I'll still beat your grown ass lil girl. Who the hell she think talking too?" She spoke under too herself.

"I love you mommy." I teased fixing the cuff on my pants.

"Mhm whatever. What's this young mans name? Is it Gell? No, no it's Adell. David Beckham!" She corrected herself as she tried to guess the names.

"First, his name is Odell Beckham and David Beckham plays soccer." I corrected her.

"Odell Beckham, yeah that's his name." I nodded with her in agreement.

"What about Odell Beckham?" I heard a deep voice behind me.

"Daddy!" I jumped up wrapping my arms around his neck tightly.

"Hey baby girl. What's been going on?" We did our handshake and sat down.

"You're daughter is dating an NFL football player." My mama, Teina blurted out making me shoot her a glare.

She always wants too make a scene and be petty.

"Wait, come again? What's this young mans name?" My dad asked looking at me sternly.

"Did Jayden call anytime this weekend?" I changed the subject.

"Nah, he's probably been cutting up again. I miss my baby boy." She sighed shaking her head in disappointment.

Jayden was a shit starter and it wasn't a secret. He'll fight the officers or inmates which makes them take his calls and lock him in a room by himself.

"I'll go visit him soon." I stretched standing up and grabbed my keys.

"Where are you going? I was just about to give you your food." She wiped her hands on the towel.
