The guilt washed over me as reality started to kick in again. I wiped my mouth with my hand leaving a red stain on my palm. Great. I knew it must have been noticeable. I looked down at her still body. I knelt down next to her trying to find a pulse…Nothing. I sighed giving up sitting down next to her avoiding the pool of blood that surrounded her now lifeless body. What had I done? How had the night when from heaven to hell?
I stood in the club my eyes secretly scanning over everyone there. I stopped as someone caught my eye. A beautiful blonde girl dancing with not a care in the world. Her hips swayed from side to side as everyone looked on. She had everyone’s attention. All I knew was whatever guy that was leaving with her tonight is a lucky one. My eyes never left her at all. I lifted my drink to my lips slowly sipping at it. My eyes followed her as she slowly stumbled her way over to the bar. I looked around before making my way through the crowds of people to her. She smiled up at me her eyes shining under the lights in the club. I could just make out her sparkling green eyes. “Do you want a drink?” I asked leaning down and talking in her ear so she could hear me. She nodded in replying waving over the bartender.
The night flew by and before we knew it we were both stumbling out the club hand in hand. Her lips made their way to my neck as we walked down the street. My arm was wrapped around her holding her in close to my body. I felt my body shiver every time her lips met my skin. I tried to fight off the urge. I pulled away slightly only for her to pull me back. Her body hitting the building behind us. She smirked up at me as she grabbed my hand pulling me further down the alley way. I looked back gulping. I felt myself letting go… The demon taking over.
She smirked up at me slowly taking off my leather jacket. I leaned my head into the crook of her neck. I breathed in taking in her scent and that was it I was gone…I bit down into her skin sucking up every last bit of blood that I could. I felt her body fall limp in my arms. I let go letting her body slowly fall down to the ground.
So that was how the night went. I looked at her body hoping she’d some how wake up… They never did. I was a monster who couldn’t control myself. I went weeks without seeing anyone but the pain and loneliness took over the human side of me. You see I was a normal person just the demons got to me. They lurk around in the night waiting on the right person. A pretty girl died tonight because of me. An innocent girl died. The demons inside me always won. I had no control over them. All I wanted was a friend. I had lost everyone. My family chased me away when they found out what happened.
I sat next to the girl her hand in mine. A tear rolling down my cheek. “Please just wake up.” I cried leaning my head against her. Still nothing. I looked up to the night sky looking at the stars shining. I looked at her lifeless body again before getting up. It was time to go. Every time I killed I left the body to be found. It was the same story all the time “dog mauled a young female to pieces.” Only I and the others knew the truth. Alone in the world with no way of dying or escaping. Lonely for the many years to come, with no such thing as a “cure”
