AISHA'S POV

I pulled out a chair and sat beside Naaz, my best friend. They were talking about some charity program, and an auction for it.

I work part time as a social worker at a rehab and I come from a pretty influential family, I was sure I could help them. So I nudged Naaz.

"Hey, what auction? What charity? Tell me about it too."

Naaz turned to me and said,"it's the child relief charity. Its for orphaned kids, who haven't been adopted, and need shelter and good schooling. This NGO plans on helping getting each of the 735 children under it to get into a good school according to their capacity, and proper residencies."

I liked the idea. I mean, who won't? It's about helping children, who deserved so much more than they got.

I nodded at Naaz and said,"So, how are they collecting money? How can we donate?"

Our other friend, Tania, replied, "That's the problem. We can't donate."

I looked at her in confusion, and asked, "Explain."

Naaz sighed and said,"CHILD RELIEF CARE or the CRC is an NGO started by 15 free spirited hardworking ladies, who came from the middle class of the society and believed that work should be given as charity."

I still was confused, I raised my eyebrows at Naaz.

She continued, "They don't want your money as donation, they want us to work for them, or do something, that will get us money which can be used."

I agreed to the idea, but didn't understand where it was going.

Naaz continued, "It's just that, charity often comes from men and women who haven't worked hard to earn it, just got it in inheritance. The CRC shun such people. So, they make the volunteers work, or sell something or perform something to collect money."

I nodded in understanding. After all WORK was the biggest charity. Determined to make a contribution, I stated,"I want to enroll, what work do I have to do?"

They stared at me wide-eyed, as if I had said the most strange statement of the century.

"What?" I asked?

"Aisha, you will model? And go on a date with an unknown guy? Who will pay money to be your date? Are you sure?" Naaz said, doubtfully.

As much as I wanted to back out, I mean, it felt strange, getting money for going on a DATE; I couldn't back out now, because :
1. I was extremely determined to do it.
2. I wanted to help the children.
3. I hated how doubtful Naaz sounded when I said I wanted to work.

So, against all my better wisdom, I nodded my head in confidence and said,"Yeah! Why not? I am pretty and I am sure, someone will surely bid for me. And besides it for a good cause. I can do this. I will do this."

Prince POV

"Bro, you gotta come to this event."  Tyler whined at me.

I shrugged,"Don't Bro me! I don't want to go! And besides, who in their right mind would go and buy a date??"

Hunter let out an exasperated sigh,"You Jackass!  You! I mean, get over that girl. She is gone, for good, she should be dead to you!  And now, 1.5 years later, you are still pinning for her to come back to you."

Tyler joined in,"yup man, Arianna is NOT COMING BACK!"

"Get over her man!"

"Get a life."
