I’m sitting here on that hill, at that park we went to, waiting for the sun to set. It has been a few years since that day, but I come just the same. I sit at the same spot every year to watch the sun set and try to fulfill my promise.

The news has moved on to different stories.

Finally.

He has been put away.

Good riddance.

Now I just have to go on with life.

It hasn’t been easy these past years. In and out of the hospital, new therapist every other week, I’ve been a mess.

Things started to get better after I started coming back to the park. I feel closer to you.

I remember our last real day together.

I remember how badly you wanted to see the sunset.

I remember how you told me how nothing is the same thing twice.

I remember all of it.

I remember you.
