•Hook's POV•

"Well, well, well, Swan."

I couldn't believe my eyes. What was Neal doing here with Emma?! Was this some sort of date? Were these the "plans" Emma was talking about when I called her?

"Uh...Hook, hi," she said awkwardly.

Neal just glared at me. What was his problem? We'd been friends earlier in life, when he was a boy. Why couldn't he have stayed that way? A boy, I mean. That would've made things a whole lot easier.

"Am I interrupting something?" I asked, already aware of the answer.

"Oh, we were just having dinner," Emma explained.

"Yeah, and we'd like some time alone. So if you could leave, that would be great," Neal added.

"Fine. I'll leave. But you owe me an explanation, Swan."

•Emma's POV•

What could he possibly mean by "an explanation?" I had just told him Neal and I were on a date. And now he wanted me to explain it to him further?

Luckily, I didn't have to right away, because he stormed out of Granny's not even a minute later.

"What's his problem?" Neal said to me.

"He..." What was I supposed to say to that?

"Did you guys have a thing before I got here?"

"Not exactly."

"Not exactly?"

"Well I mean, we kissed, but you already know that. And it was a long time ago anyway."

"We got out of Neverland two months ago, Emma. It wasn't that long ago," he said sternly.

Oh, so now he was upset with me for kissing Hook? What was I supposed to do? I thought he'd been dead at the time!

"Are you mad at me?" I asked.

"What? No. Well...maybe. It depends."

"On what?"

"Do you still have feelings for him?"

I opened my mouth to say 'no,' but realized it wasn't the truth. I did have feelings for Hook. He'd been there for me through thick and thin, and he'd even gotten to know Henry. My son liked him. I liked him. I couldn't lie to Neal.

Apparently I had taken too long to respond, because he said, "I see." He looked defeated and I wanted to touch his hand and reassure him that I had feelings for him as well.

But when I tried to tell him that, no words came out. I realized that I only wanted to get back together with him for Henry's sake. My heart's desire was to be with Hook.

"Look, I think I need some time to think. We can do this another time," I told Neal, getting up from the table.

"Emma, wait!"

But I was already heading for the door. As I left, I heard him say, "Check, please." I felt bad for running out on him like that, but I couldn't sit there and lie to him.

I had to talk to Henry. I drove home without realizing that I'd left Neal at Granny's without a car. And that Henry was at Regina's for the weekend. Looks like I'd have to wait.

Author's Note: Oh my gosh, guys! I am so sorry I haven't been updating this story. I had so many ideas for other books and I couldn't wait to get started on them. But now that "Their Wattpad Love" is nearing an end, I decided it was time to get back to this story.

So, what did you think?
