Brian's POV.

Today Carter was coming back from Dallas. We decided to prepare lunch for her at Matt's place as a welcome back..thingy.

Today, not only would Matt be 'reunited' with his girl but today,

I'm gonna come clean about something. Something I've been keeping from Alex. But today, the truth will be told.

Alex was in the kitchen cooking, Zacky was setting the table, Matt and Jimmy were at the airport and Johnny.. Well, no one really knew where he was. I walked to the kitchen and saw Alex with her back turned towards the stove. I tried to be as quiet as possible and sneaked up behind her.

Just as I was about to scare her she said "I know you're there."

"Dammit," I laughed, "how'd you know I was there ?"

"I just did," she smiled.

"Listen, Alex..I need to talk to you about something."

"Yeah what's up?" she asked as she made her way to the cabinets.

"Listen," I said while holding her arm, "stop moving for a while.". She gave me a puzzled look and said "Okay..go on."

"The other night..when we were coming home from the bar, you got drunk." that's when she gasped a bit.

"What'd I say ?" she asked.

"That..I was 'hot' and that you lik- love me.."

"Oh no." she said as she hid her face in embarrassment and turned away.

"No, it's okay. That's what I wanted to talk to you about."

She looked at me as I started walking closer to her.

"Alex, I feel exactly the same way. That's why I don't wanna be 'just friends'. Forget university, I'll support you. You won't have to worry about anything as long as you're with me. I promise." I took her hands in mine and waited for a response.

"I can't," she whispered.

"Why not ?"

"Brian, what makes me so sure that..history won't repeat itself ?"

"Alex, I know you've had a bad experience and you think that every guy is like Kyle, but please, let me change your mind. "

I touched her neck with my hand and her forehead with mine. I kissed her tenderly and played with her hair.

"What the fuck is going on ?" I heard Matt behind me and turned to see him and Carter standing next to each other.
