Chapter 10: cheerleading

"Alice get up" Amalie says shaking Alice awake.

"What?" Alice says.

"We're trying out for cheerleading today so I need you guys to get up" Amalie says forcefully.

"I haven't done cheerleading since I was thirteen" Alice says.

"I didn't even know the school had a cheerleading squad" I say confused.

"They don't. Well at least not while you've been here" Amalie says.

"The squad fell apart after Amalie's 'death' she was head cheerleader and then we didn't have one so we thought there was no point in continuing" Alice explains.

"Yeah and I just went to the office and told them that since me, Amalie Thornton, head cheerleader was back from the dead the squad could start again" Amalie says.

I roll my eyes. Honestly Amalie is so up herself. Then I get an idea. I should try to be head cheerleader just to show Amalie that she can't be everything. She stole the netball captain from me and my team away from me so I'll take head cheerleader away from her. And besides everyone knows that the head cheerleader is the most popular girl in school. Ever since Amalie got back I've moved down a spot and Amalie's been at the top. This is my chance to get it back.

"I'll do it" I say.

Amalie looks at me with a bitchy expression on her face.

"Great Charlotte's trying out" Amalie says sarcastically.

"Fine I'll do it to, there's only four cheerleading spots though and there's eight of us" Alice says.

"Well I was thinking about that and I thought Daphney won't want to do it because she'll be obsessing over Daniel all day today" Amalie says looking pointedly at me.

"Alright so that's Daphney gone" I say.

"And Kimberly, Samantha and Jacinta probably won't want to do it. They're way to quiet for that kind of stuff" Amalie says.

"Ok" I say.

"So that leaves Keira" Alice says.

"Do you think Keira will want to try out?" I ask.

"Definately. And me and you definately will" Amalie says.

"Oh and Alice will definately love it. I mean people pay to see the sport games we cheer for so therefor they're basically paying to see us. And Alice loves people paying for her don't you Alice" Amalie says as though it's supposed to mean something.

Alice looks at the wall, not saying anything.

"Ok well let's go see if Keira wants to" I say trying to change the subject.

"Oh Charlotte, don't you know anything about the social order Keira is lower then the three of us so she can come to us" Amalie says.

"Uh ok" I say. I've never heard of this social order Amalie is talking about.

"Well are you gonna text her?" Amalie says.

I get my phone out and open it.

"What should I say?" I ask.

Amalie tells me what to say and I type it into my phone.

Charlotte: Hey come over to my room. Me, Alice and Amalie want to ask you something.

Keira: Ok should I bring the others?

"She asked if she should bring the others, what do I say?" I ask.

"Tell her no but make her feel important" Amalie says.

Charlotte: No this is very important and it took a lot to decide but we decided you would be perfect. So come alone.
