"So Akiko wants to come back to Cross Academy?" Kaname questions as he lounged across his love seat, a chess piece dangling from his fingers.
"Yes my lord," Seiren answers from where she was kneeling in front of the Pureblood lord. "As well as the other Kiryu twin."
"Thank you Seiren," Kaname says. "You may go." Seiren stands up and leaves Kaname's room, leaving Kaname to his thoughts. "So Akiko has become a chess piece all her own," Kaname says to himself, placing the chess piece back onto the chess board. "But she can only go forward or back. She will be handy in taking down the 'King.'

"Cross Academy, how I've missed this place," Akiko declares sarcastically, climbing up the stairs towards the school. "Not the best memories but it is where the final show down will take place. How are you holding up Ichiru?"Ichiru was fiddling with Shizuka's bell that Akiko had given to him which he had tied his hair back with, creating a difference from his twin. Ichiru looked up at her before nodding. "Yes, I'm fine Akiko-Sama," he says. "I know my part in the plan but I don't really get what yours is."
"It's simple what I need to do," Akiko answers. "Think of it as a video game Ichiru; I'm the main hero in the game and my father is the main boss at the end of the game. In order to defeat him I need to level up, taking quests and doing small things. The humans I snatched off the streets are the small things and coming here to Cross Academy again is one of the quests I have to beat. One of the bosses I need to defeat to level up is here at this school and I won't stop at anything to level up."
Akiko turned away from Ichiru and continues to climb the stairs, Ichiru scrambling behind her.
"I wonder if Mikio is here still," Akiko says out loud, her chest quenching at the thought of her boyfriend - or ex-boyfriend, seeing as they hadn't seen each other for months.
"I'm sure he won't be," Ichiru points out. "But if he is ..."
"He'll probably want to rip my throat out," Akiko finished, flicking one of her bangs out of her eyes. "And I don't blame him either: if Mikio had left me out of the blue and than shows up again I will probably want to rip his throat out too."
When they made it up the stairs they were surprised to find Chairman Cross waiting for them, his cheery facade gone and replaced by a serious one. Akiko raised her eyebrows.
"I wasn't aware that we had an escort," Akiko states. She looks over at Ichiru who also has a look of confusion that mirrored hers. Akiko looked back over at Chairman Cross, who was pushing his glasses up his nose.
"Akiko, Ichiru, come with me now," he orders before turning away. This can't be good.

"What exactly is this?" Isaya asks, holding up Mikio's phone."It's called a phone," Mikio explained, getting annoyed at having to explain every modern thing to his great-grandfather. "You call people with it so that you can talk to them when you are not face to face."
"And this?" Isaya adds, pointing to Mikio's lap top. Mikio resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
"It's called a lap top," Mikio explains, talking very slowly. "It is used to write things and to surf the internet."
"And what's the internet?" Isaya asks.
"Oh come on, I didn't wake you from your slumber to explain what a TV is," Mikio says, frustrated.
"Than why exactly did you wake me?" Isaya asked.
"I need your help with something," Mikio says. "My girlfriend, Akiko Kuran, ran away from the school I attended because someone had murdered her mother Shizuka Hio and -"
"Shizuka is dead?" Isaya asked. "I didn't thinks she would last to she was one hundred years old. The fact that she lasted to three thousand was quite a surprise."
"Anyway, Akiko wants to kill a certain Pureblood because of that, and I was thinking that because they are both Purebloods and Purebloods are equal they would end up killing each other," Mikio explained. "And I was thinking if four Purebloods fought against one it would be much easier and we won't get killed in the process. So, what do you say?"
"Who is the Pureblood we're supposed to be fighting and who's the fourth Pureblood?" Isaya asked.
"We're fighting Rido Kuran, Akiko's father," Mikio explained. "And the fourth Pureblood is Kaname Kuran, Akiko's cousin. So, are you in?"
"I never really liked Rido Kuran," Isaya says, lifting the lid of the lap top up and staring at the screen in interest. "How exactly does this work?"
Mikio rushed over to Isaya and shut the screen, glaring at his great-grandfather. "I will explain everything about this laptop and everything in the modern world if you agree to kill Rido Kuran."
"Of course I'll help," Isaya answers.
"Good," Mikio grins. He walks around the desk and points to the computer screen. "That's the internet logo: you click on that to get this page up."
A/N: it never really said what time period Vampire Knight was set in so I made it in the present. I thought the whole Mikio teaching Isaya about modern technology was funny.
