Class ended 10 minutes ago, and I was on my free period. I wanted to go across the hall to Georgie, but some part of me wouldn't let me.

It's just across the hall.

Except that it's not. It's Georgie. Georgie is across the hall. Georgie kissed me. She's unpredictable. What would I say to her?

I stand, only to sit again. I have a boyfriend. I might like kissing him, but I have a boyfriend. I like kissing Georgie. She's a girl.

Mother would never approve. She would hate me. I don't want her to hate me. She wouldn't want to cheat on Michael. Is this cheating? She wouldn't want me with another woman like this. I don't even know if I want me with another woman. But I like kissing Georgie.

Father would be okay with it. He likes Michael, but he's always telling me to be with the one I love. He says that's why he's with Mother. He's such a romantic. Father encourages. He protects. He loves me. Mother loves me too, I'm sure, but not like Father. I think he would like Georgie. They're both very spontaneous.

I stand again, but this time I don't sit down.

It's just across the hall, I tell myself again. We could talk about weather. People talk about weather all the time. It's like small talk. I walk through the open door of my classroom. To the center of the hallway. Her door is open.

All of a sudden I'm having all of these second thoughts. Weather is a terrible thing to converse about with a woman who just kissed you. My entire plan comes unraveled in a matter of seconds.

I try and sneak back to my classroom, but she catches me.

"Are you going to come in now, or just go and sit back down again?" She asks from her desk. Did she see me? Maybe if I'm quiet she'll forget all about it and let me go. "I know you're out there."

I don't think I have a choice now. I enter her classroom with my head downcast. I can feel her eyes on me.

"So, how about that weather, huh?" She laughs. My cheeks redden and my pulse skyrockets.

"I said that aloud?" I ask.

"Babe, you said everything out loud but, no need to worry. I thought it was cute." Again, I could feel the heat enter my cheeks. She thought I was cute.

I take a moment to compose myself looking around the room. It's much more decorated than mine. The walls are lined with the works of students. The front wall covered in posters of famous pieces of art.

"Thank you for the complement." I smile. "Why did you ask me to come over?" She stands from her desk and walks towards me.

"Straight to the point, huh?" She smiles at me. "I wanted to ask you out on a date."

"Oh. A date."

"Yes, a date. You, me, and date stuff." She smiles. Again. She really likes smiling.

"Date stuff," I repeat like an idiot.

"Just like I said, sweetheart."

"I just met you. We just met." I pause. "I have a boyfriend. I'm not the type to be unfaithful. I shouldn't have kissed you, I ap-pologize, but I have to decline in your offer of date stuff. Goodbye." I walk off. She's right behind me following me back to my classroom. She runs into the class room before me pulling me in and shutting the door. I can hear the lock turn, but I'd rather not focus on it. She's still holding onto me as we walk to the middle of the room.

"No. I'm declining your decline to join me. We're going on a date. I don't care about your boyfriend. He's probably an ass who doesn't know how to treat you. Dump him, and go out with me, tonight."

"I can't go out with you tonight. I'm going out with my parents, and my BOYFRIEND! Because I have a boyfriend. And he's not an ass. He's very sweet." I explain.

"Tomorrow night then, I'll take you out tomorrow night." She says. Her hands slide from my side to my waist and rest comfortably on my hips. And she's looking at me. She's looking at me with those eyes that I just met.

"It doesn't strike you as odd that we just met?" I question her resulting in yet another smile.

"I'm a woman who knows what she wants."

"Wants are just dreams for adults. They don't come true."

"That's depressing, but I still want to take you out. Say yes."

"No. I have a boyfriend."

"Say yes or I'll make you say yes." She replies.

I'm generally a cautious person. I like to know what's going to happen before it actually happens.

"Make me? How on earth are you going to make me do anything?" I attempt to escape her grasp but she holds strong and stands tall.

"I'll have to weaken you defenses of course." Her hands grip a fraction lower. I gasp at the change, my hands fly up towards her shoulder.

"How are you planning on doing that?"

"A kiss probably wouldn't hurt. Actually I'd like to start there. You're going to say yes either way."

There a knock at the door. Her attention is drawn and I slip away towards the door.

"Oh, hello Dr. Thomas. What can I do for you?"

"Nothing, really. I just wanted to know how your first day was going." He welcomes himself into the classroom and notices Georgie. "Oh, hello Ms. Cage. Nice to see you're helping our new hire out." He approaches Georgie, whose face is scrunched with aggravation. If I didn't have a boyfriend I would say she's adorable, but I have a boyfriend so I won't.

"Yes Sir. She's an excellent teacher. We've already been talking about a joint project."

"Amazing! Well I'll leave you to it. I just wanted to make sure everything was running smoothly. I'll be in my office if you need me." He says walking back out.

"Now back to us." Georgie says. I turn back to face her, only for her to be right in front of my face. Before she can grab my waist I grab her hands and hold them up. She pouts.

"No us. I'm in a relationship."

"It's just one date." She says.

"I'll only go if you stop calling it a date." I compromise.

"If I stop calling it a date, then we can't do date stuff, and I want to do date stuff with you."

"I wouldn't mind doing date stuff with you either, but I have a boyfriend."

"Fine, but I will win you over sweet cheeks." She says. Her face lights up. "Oh, the possibilities. He's never going to know what hit him."
