Chapter 4

The day had just ended, and I was walking out the door to wait on Michael to pick me up. I could feel eyes on me. I stop and turn around but see nothing.

Michael's car pulls up just outside. I smile before opening the door and climbing in.

"How was your first day?" He asks starting the car and taking off.

"It was fine. My students are lovely." I reply.

"That's awesome. All day I was thinking you'd have terrible teachers because it's your first year teaching, but you didn't and that makes me happy." He's such a sweet guy. "Your parent are already at the restaurant waiting. I told them we were on our way before you got in the car."

"Thank you Michael."

----

Walking into the restaurant I immediately found father. His smiling face and open arms invited me in.

"How was your first day, girly?" He asks standing next to the table where mother was seated.

"It was lovely, my students were well behaved and I met Dr. Thomas. He is a very sweet man." I smile back at him.

"That's amazing, here have a seat by me. Michael do you mind?" He asks politely.

"Not at all sir."

"Great," He ushers me into the large, eloquent booth. Michael sits next to an unamused Mother, mother next to Father, and Father next to me "How about your coworkers, how were they?"

Georgie. Don't mention Georgie

"They were great. I met the receptionist an amazing woman." I respond. Hopefully that was enough.

"You weren't even going to mention me?" Someone behind me says. Not even someone. I know exactly who it is. Georgie.

Everyone at the table turns to her. Mother is glaring at the random outsider.

"Georgie, I mean Ms. Cage. Hello."

"Ms. Cage, you're a teacher with Alexandra?" Mother asks. Since I've been here she hasn't even looked at me, but she can ask Georgie questions.

"Yes Ma'am. Fancy running into her here after her first day." Fancy nothing. I know she followed me. I knew someone did.

"Well, would you like to join us, or are you here with someone?" Father offers. "I want to hear all about Girly's first day." I blush at my Fathers use of my age-old nickname in front of her.

"I'd love to join you, you wouldn't mind?" She asks politely.

"Of course not, a friend of Georgie's is a friend of mine."

"James, this was meant to be a family dinner." Mother says to Father.

"It still is, just a bigger family." Father says. Mother squints at him, but Father only smiles back. "Would you mind scooting over sweetie, we have to make way for Ms. Cage."

"Please, call me Georgie." Mother glares at her.

"Why would I do that? Ms. Cage will do fine. Are you not married?" She's prying. Mothers pry though. It's not bad. Is it?

Georgie glances at me before replying, smirking. "No, Ma'am, not married yet."

"Then stop calling yourself Georgie. It is a terrible name for a young woman looking for a suitor."

Mother always spoke as if she was coming out of a history novel.

I glance over at Michael who is blatantly staring at Georgie like she's a piece of meat. I clear my throat loudly. He breaks out of his inappropriate trance and looks towards me. His cheeks grow red.

As Georgie is about to sit I begin pushing her out of the booth and scooting out myself.

"We will be in the restroom. I forgot to wash my hands." I lie dragging Georgie by her arm.

The door to the bathroom shuts, I turn around to a laughing Georgie.

"What are you doing here? Did you follow me?" I ask furiously.

"You never said you'd go out on a date with me, so I'm pretty much going to join the celebration and make my own date out of it." She smiles at me.

"No, my boyfriend is in there. You have to go. You can't stay."

"I'm not leaving. I told you, to break up with him. Plus, your Dad invited me to eat. It would be rude to decline after agreeing." She stalks towards me a devilish smile playing on her lips.

"I'm not going to break up with him just because you told me to. Go home." She gets closer and I step back.

"No" She takes another step. As do I.

"Leave, Georgie. My Mother is going to get angry."

"She'll get over it. I'm not here for her." Another step forward, another step back.

"I'll go out with you, fine. You have to go now though."

"Nope. I'm already here, but I will take the date. Sounds fun." One step. I'm out of steps. My back is against the wall. She smirks and closes in. "You're going to love it." She whispers into my ear. I shudder.

"Georgie. I barely even know you."

"That's why we're going on a date. Now give me a kiss."

"No." I stand tall holding onto my resolve.

"Why not?"

"I have a boyfriend." I reply.

"And? He seems like an idiot. Plus you already agreed to a date. I think I'm owed a kiss." She negotiates as if this is a negotiation.

"No."

"I'll just take it then." Our lips collide before I have the chance to respond. She kisses me. She's kissing me.

Her soft lips move with mine. Slow, but passionate like a kiss in a movie. My previously mentioned resolve has completely disappeared.

Her hands slither up my arms like a snake. An evil snake with evil soft lips and pretty eyes. She's slithering. She's a snake. She's temptation. It feels good to fall for the forbidden. Her hand slides up the back of my neck, her fingers slip into my hair capturing. She's capturing the moment.

She's right here. Kissing me. I can feel my heart beating harder, or is that her heart. Maybe she isn't as cool and calm as I suspected. Maybe this is just as new for her.

She's kissing me and I'm kissing back. Why am I kissing back? I have Michael. I'm not an unfaithful woman. This isn't me. But I can't stop. I love these lips.

The door swings open. Mother walks in. Mother sees us.
