1//Me, myself & I

"Excuse me, miss? One vanilla cupcake, please."
I looked up from my Statistic book. In front of the counter stood a guy with the most beautiful eyes. They were light brown with a ring of gold hung inside his iris. Other than his eyes, his dark brown hair was messy like he had just woken up. He also has the softest lips ever, and I wanted to touch them, but the thing that amazed me the most was the fact that he was mine. A smile crept onto my face at the thought of that.
Jake Austen was my boyfriend since last year when his friends introduced us at a play. Sounds really odd because other couple's first time meeting each other are always romantic or cheesier than ours but rather than caring how we met, I am glad that we fell in love with other.
"Anything else sir?" I asked, playing along with his act. I got up from my chair to get a wax paper to wrap it around the cupcake that he pointed to.
"That's it," Jake answered in a serious tone. I tried not to burst out laughing because he looked so cute. The way he kept his mouth forming into a thin line and no emotion displayed. I knew he was trying to make me acknowledge him first, but that wasn't going to happen today. He was always trying to get me to say hi first because I have a tendency of ignoring others until they acknowledge me. It's weird, I know.
"Okay, that would be $1.50," I said, mirroring his face. Handing him the cupcake, my hand brushed his resulting in a shock. I doubt he was going to last any longer plus he looked somewhat pissed.
"Ella. Seriously, though, can you just lose one time for me," Jake blurted out, pretending to be annoyed. He set the cupcake down onto the counter and pouted. This bastard, he knew that I could not say no whenever he pouts.
"Three to zero," I singsonged not looking at his face. My long brown hair swung with me. I was getting ready to dance to the faint melodious music in the background when a hand grabbed my wrist and stopped my chance to display my talent.
Just kidding.
"What time are you getting off," Jake asked, hugging me from behind. Suddenly, a red rose appeared in front of my face. I couldn't help it, but to giggle because he was too romantic for his own good. Honestly, even after three years with him, I am not sick of his romantic gestures. One time, he got me the teddye bear from Costco and that says a lot.
I looked up at the clock to see that it was two o'clock which meant that my shift as finally over.
"My shift ended exactly one minute ago. Do you still want the cupcake tho?"
"Go home and change into something nicer. Afterward, come to this address," Jake whispered, handing me a piece of paper. "Don't be late" He winked playfully "I will be waiting"
"The only problem is that my step mom gave me a ride to here today so..." My voice trailed off, waiting for him to finish the sentence. In the meantime, I wiggled out of his hug and turned around, gazing at him.
"So I have to drive you home?" Jake asked frustrated, running his hands through his ridiculously soft hair. He hates when something doesn't go according to his plan.
"How about you drop me off and I will meet you at this place" I pointed to the piece of paper. He then let out a sigh but nodded.
Wonder what he had prepared?
Without another word, my hand slowly found his and together we walked toward his car. Well, he walked and I followed since I don't know where it is. We got into his shiny black BMW and Jake started to drive toward my house. As he was driving, my favorite song came onto the radio.
