"Why?" He asks, still staring at me. I put my weight on one leg and lean on my hip. I cross my arms and stare at him. "Can your stupid brain comprehend what I said? Are you gonna say something?" Burn.
"Aww look, Dustins using big words." I tease, treating him like a 5-year-old. "Shut up."Burn.
"Can I just come in?"
"No. Now move."Burn.
And with that he left. The door opened again and this time it was his mom. She still had her beautiful angel white skin and bronze hair. "Hello, Destiny!" She cheers, hugging me in the process. I miss this feeling, she is like my second mom. She guided me into her home. Once I stepped in, I felt like an intruder. I mean, Dustin has taken me here before but, it's because he wanted me here. Now he doesn't. "Hello, Ms. Flynn" I greet. She cringes at her maiden name. "I like Ms. Blues better but, please call me Alexandra. You know like we did in Texas. We use to be the best of friends-" She rambles on for a couple of minutes before she escorts me to my new room. The room has a neutral bed and walls. Everything was a mixture of tan, white, and gold. The brown dresser on the right of the bed has an attached mirror with a golden rim. I look at myself in the mirror. My long dark brown hair flowing down to my waist, even in the ponytail it's in now. My white sweater hangs down my body like a blanket, hovering my light blue jeans. I look malnourished. I deeply sigh and change into gray sweatpants and a black tank-top. I feel my stomach grumble as I walk back downstairs. The kitchen is identical to the one I have back home, but the colors are tan. It's so homey. I head to the fridge when the front door opens. "Mom, I'm back! I got your anti-depressants." Dustin yells, his voice vibrating off the walls. "Dustin!" Alexandra yells. She speeds downstairs and stops in front of Dustin. "I don't want to freak Destiny out! Don't yell that type of stuff out loud! What if she heard you?" She whisper yells, putting her weight on one hip and crossing her arms. "Then she heard me." Dustin shrugs. His mom rolled her eyes and started walking my way. Oh no! I looked around in panic, where can I hide? What if she gets freaked out because I was eavesdropping? What is Dustin gonna think? These thoughts ramble in my head but, it was too late. They came in. I interlaced my fingers in front of me and smiled, swaying forward and backward awkwardly. "Hey, Ms. Fly- Alexandra." I give her a small smile and drop it when I see Dustin. "Hi, Dustin." He walks pass me like I'm not even there, then sits in the living room and starts to play the X-box. Burn.
"Dustin, don't be rude."
"What do you mean?" Dustin asks, not looking at his mom, too engrossed in his game. "You didn't- Oh never mind!" She throws her hands up in exasperation then walks out of the kitchen, leaving Dustin and I alone. I stroll over to him and plop next to him on the brown leather couch. "What ya playin'?" I ask, silently hoping he will respond. But of course, he doesn't. I stick my finger out and attempt to poke him, but he grabs my hand like the ninja he is. "No," He says commanding me like a dog. I snatch my hand away from his grip as my phone rings from in the kitchen. I get up and check who it is. 'Stupid D' I should change that. I went to his contact and put a heart emoji then, read his message.
Stupid D❤️>>Hey, you wanna go out tonight?
Me<< Yep!!! Where we goin ?
Stupid D❤️>>It's a surprise. Pick you up in an hour. xoxo <3
I fluttered at his message then looked at Dustin. Should I say something? Nope. He shut down the Xbox then went upstairs. I followed after some time, then did my hygiene routine. I picked out a two piece dress. The soft pink fabric covers my shoulders all the way down my arms as my stomach shows. The bottom piece attaches in the back and stops at my mid-thigh. I took my hair out of a ponytail and brush out the small tangles. I slip on my white wedges and a white fabric headband. I quickly curl my bottom edges and pull the front pieces of hair together and secure it with a white bow. I grab my white leather purse and put on light pink lipgloss. I check the mirror one last time before I take a picture with my phone and head downstairs. I stop when I exit my room and hesitantly walk over to Dustin's. I knock on the door, but there was no answer. Jerk. I opened the door a crack, but everything seemed lifeless. I opened it wider but, he wasn't in there. "Dustin?" I call out. This feels like a horror movie. I walk down the stairs, but everything in the house seemed lifeless. I walked in the kitchen and repeated his name again. "Hey!" I throw my purse behind me and turn around to see Alexandra. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" I yell running over to her. "No, it's okay. It was probably my fault because I scared you, which caused you to throw your purse at my head." She chuckles. I untangle my purse strap from her bronze hair and put it back on my shoulder, regaining our posture. "Are you looking for Dustin?"
