After they had freed the council members, they were going to head back when Mai stopped Naru to ask him something. "Naru, wait! We haven't even found any clues about the crime from 12 years ago!! Are you just gonna leave?!", Mai asked in quiet but harsh tone. "Mai..." "There has to be something, some reason as to why we saw that vision. It couldn't have been a dud!! The visions always end up giving us hints!!" "Mai calm down....alright we'll search a little while longer." That's when they saw the two fox deities, surrounded by an intimidating aura. They were clearly very angry. "What are you people doing in our forest, freeing our captives!!??", hissed the female. "We are taking our friends back home!", shouted Ino. "Well you'll have to go through us to get to the exit. We'll see if y'all are strong enough to learn the truth!!", the lean male said. Naru and the two foxes began circling each other. The foxes hissed and growled at him, while he just stared at them patently, closely and carefully observing them. Right as the fox deities were about to attack, a sudden mist occurred. Then, once the mist cleared away, the people noticed that Mai, Misaki, and Ayano were acting different. "H-hey do you think that they are p-possessed?", John said, clearly worried for the girls. "I don't know.", Naru said to everyone there. Then, in unison, the girls moved to the center of the clearing, were the two big gravestones are. They all spoke at once, not one of their voices were recognised. It was as if they were speaking on behalf on someone.....something else. "Please stop fighting. You two....these gravestones are yours, correct??", they spoke to the foxes. "Y-yes...this clearing.....it is where we died.", the female said sadly. "Would you like me to show these villagers what happened that night....you should also see the thruth for yourself." "T-truth?? What do you mean??! We already know what happened 12 years ago!!", shouted the male. "But do you really?? What if you only know part of the truth and what if I told you that all those years of taking your rage out on the villagers were pointless??? Hmmm?? What then, huh???" "W-well.....I DON'T KNOW", shouted a furious and confused female fox with frightening anger. "Well then.....I'll show you.", smirked the girls. They gathered in a cirlce with the foxes and other people looking at them with curiosity. Then, as they started to chant in an unknown language, a golden, light pink, and green mist gathered in the middle of them and began to change to an unfamiliar scenery.
--------*flashback*--------
It was a rather stormy night. Thunder could be heard off in the distance, and lighting flashed in the sky. There was a village not too far from a forest. In the forest you could here cries of pain mixed with the roar of thunder. In a rather large underground house, a woman was giving birth. She was there alone with no one to care for her or the baby. A short distance away, a tan blur could be seen. When the blur stopped, you could see a fox with golden fur and bright sky blue eyes and nine tails. He than transformed into a tall man with golden blond hair and blue eyes. He had two tan fox ears on his head and nine fluffy tan tails with white on the tips. He quickly walked over to the door hidden in the ground and opened it as he heard another scream of pain. He rushed to a room a ways down the hall and opened a door. When he opened the door, he heard one last cry of pain and the cry of a newborn child. He quickly rushed over to the bed. On the bed was a red-haired woman with beautiful green eyes, and two redish-black ears on her head and nine limp red-black tails behind her. She was only slightly smaller than the man. "Oh, Kushina...I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you.", the man said to the woman. She held a newborn baby in her hands. "M-minato....w-we have a baby b-boy.", she whispered to the man, weak from the labor. Minato smiled. "What should we name him." "H-how about....Naruto?" "Naruto...malestrom. That's a good name." The baby had golden blond hair and blue eyes with redish-tan fox ears and only one redish-tan tail. He had three wisker-like birthmarks on each of his cheeks. "M-mi-minato....please..take care of N-naruto f-for me. I don't think t-that I'll l-last much l-longer." "WHAT!? What do mean you won't last much longer??!" "Oh, Minato...I-I am to weak to care for myself, much less a baby. I'm j-just too tired from the labor. M-my body j-just won't h-heal. M-minato...I can't s-see you anymore. I h-hoped I w-would have g-gotten to see my s-son grow up. Goodbye, I love you always.......", the beautiful woman said to her husband with a sad smile on her face as she took her last breath. "K-kushina??" Naruto immediately began to cry, sensing that his mother was no longer alive. "Don't worry Kushina. I will protect our son with my life. I love you.", he said, taking his son from his mother's corpse. After he put naruto in his bedroom, he took his wife's body and cried for the first time since his clan's extinction 15 years ago. He than took Kushina's body and buried her in her favorite place in the forest. A small clearing with beautiful flowers and animals. He had know idea that keeping his promise would be harder than he thought.
