While the armies of the living were being consumed, Arthas's army attacked the homelands in Ashenvale. The helpless orcs and humans their are dying. They have few defenses versus a thousands of vile dead. But Jaina is in charged for defense. ''Stay behind the walls! Rifle men, shoot the air! Footmen, fall back here and defend! Villagers and workers, go inside the bunkers!'' Jaina ordered them to survive. She is in the under-construction castle along with some rifle men. The orcs, however has nothing to do. They hid the ruins of there under-construction homeland and the undead left them. The rifle men in the trees had fallen back to the walls. The undead strike force is so strong that all of them are not able to fight back. So they hid in order to survive.
