Chapter 2: [ Why me? ]

Hey there! I updated these two chapts(1&2) at once for u guys to know more about Eunmin's background:))

When I entered a new school in Korea, I couldn't really communicate in korean language fluently as I didn't get a chance to in my American school.

I only knew words like:
Gomawo (thank you), Mianhae (sorry), Saranghae (I love you) and some other simple greetings and thats it.

I knew NOTHING about Hangul, despite the fact I'm a Korean/American. -.-

Speaking of which, I didn't even LOOK like an American!!

I wonder where the genes from my dad went to...

Maybe it's just because I look more like my mom?

Maybe, maybe. But that can't be just it right??

And like this, I was teased for not knowing how to speak in Korean even though I'm fluent at it now. -.-

Life was really miserable.

Don't they ever get bored of teasing me?? ㅠ.ㅠ I was also teased for being fatherless.

wth.

I wanted to tell mom about it but she seems to be very tired after her whole day at work.

I didn't want to stress her any further or worrying about me, so I decided to keep it to myself. I endured the pain but my studies deproved gradually...

"Eunmin, I really need u to buck up, your results are getting bad to worst."-my form teacher

"B-but I've already tried my best.."-me

"Your best isn't MY best. If u don't wish to retain, study harder."-her

Haizz, even my form teacher didn't believe me. Who else can I trust?? My mom? Yea, she's the only one. ㅜ.ㅜ

That evening, Mdm Oh called my mom and informed her about my grades and how I was doing in school.

"Umm-- , is this Mdm Kim? Is mdm Kim speaking?"-mdm Oh

"Oh yes, speaking. Is there any problem with Eunmin?"-mom

"Hi, Eunmin has not been coping well with her studies these few days.....seems to be....."-mdm Oh

>>Eunmin's mom POV

When we moved here in Korea, I felt so sorry for everything. I blamed myself for not being a great mom. She used to be cheeky and full of smiles on her face. On certain nights, I saw her crying silently in the dark. I must say that she's pretty matured and emotional. That kid must be suffering so much now bcus of me. Sorry Eunmin. And so tonight, I'm going to tell her the truth. It may shock her but, I have to no matter what..

Eunmin came home with a saddening look.

"Eunmin? Why do u look so tired...?"-me

Eunmin shooked her head and just went into her room.

"Eumin-ahh..."-me

She didn't turn back.

"Eunmin..??"-me

And yes, she isn't as talkative as before too. Poor kid..

"Eunmin-ah, are u ok? If u are facing any difficulties, u can talk to me alright..?"-me

I know exactly how she is feeling right now. I was bullied too, back in the days at the orphanage.

>>Eunmin's POV

I really hate school omg. How stupid can things get? I have so many thing to say right now that I choose not to. Mom has always been by my side all year round without complaining a single thing.

She came into my room with a knock on the door.

"Eunmin? Are u alright..? U don't seem so.."-mom

"Yea, I don't."-me

Oops, I blurted it out. I should've kept it to myself..

"It's okay, tell me everything. U don't have to hide anything from me:)"-mom while smiling

Mom patted my back.

"Look Eunmin, I have something that I really want to tell u from the start but couldn't."-mom

I nodded.

"Do you really want to know the reason Dad left us..?"-mom

Did I hear correctly??

Reason?

I looked up at her.

"D-do u really want to tell me? U don't really have to if u want to.."-me (P.s I want to know actually)XD

Mom took a deep breath and sighed.

She then nodded slightly and began speaking again, in a more serious tone this time.

"Eunmin, u have to be prepared ok? Jus--just listen to me and try to understand me alright?"-mom

I was as curious as EVER.

I kept still and look into her eyes.

"I know it has been hard on the both of us, you and I. It's my fault, sorry.."-mom

"It's ok mom, u don't have to worry. Just say what you wanna say."-me

I placed my palm on hers and listened to her closely.

"The thing i--s--is that Dad..."-mom

"What about him?"-me

I've been wanting to know this for years and so I interrupted her without realising. XD
