Here it goes again... God damnit.
"Aiden, stop playing your stupid video games and help me wash up the dishes!"
"Wait mom, I'm just entering a game-"
"Can't you like pause it or something? I need your help now! Your uncle is coming."
"5 minutes!"
Argh I hate it when parents can't freakin get it that you can't pause an online game.
Meh was about to lose the duel anyway. He's fucking level 76! How in the hell? Doesn't he has a life? I spent 2000+ hours on this MMO and I'm just like level 42. Crazy.
Anyways, back to reality. What did mom told me to do again? Laundry? Making the bed? Lawning the mown? Ugh.
"Aiden!!"
"Okay okay... Jeez."
My mind wanders as I wash up the plates. Did I completed the quest which I had to slay the dragon and return the orb back to the rightful owner? That particular quest has a big reward for sure; difficult too.
What's uncle Thomas business of coming here anyway. I hate guests. Simply because I would be the one to tidy up the whole household. Let's just hope whatever it is, he'll be quick and gone.
Ding dong
"That's him. Open the door." Mom shouted from the kitchen. Guess she'll be cooking a nice dinner at last.
As I opened the door. Uncle Tom budged right in. I was confused.
"Sorry Aiden. I'm in deep trouble. Real deep. And I ain't got time. Where's your mother?"
"She's preparing something for dinner. Why?"
Uncle Tom went straight to the kitchen and somehow persuaded my mom into not doing what she was doing and to listen to him.
We sat in the living room. Uncle Tom looks worried sick; his eyes were all bulgy and he looked so thin, as if he didn't ate for a month.
"My stock market isn't doing well Martha. Please I need something to edit and publish the book that I talked about. That's my last resort. I can't work as a Walmart employee my whole life. Can't even afford to pay my monthly rent. I believe that book would make some money for me to at least survive."
"You're always welcome here Tom. Gerard isn't coming back soon, you could always sleep in the guest room"
"No Martha, this is ALL on me. It's my fault I trusted my partner in this business too easily. I've been back stabbed and its all my damn fault."
"Well what could I do to help then?"
"If only you could lend me a computer, that would be great."
What? Did I just heard that?
"Well, Aiden has a computer, and it's about time he let it go. Besides, he's been into video games too much lately."
Is. This. A. Nightmare.
"Perfect. I just need it for editing some of my incomplete drafts. I'll return it in a jiff. You don't mind right Aiden?"
Well duh. I MIND.
"Uhh, if it helps you. Then why not?"
What else should I say with mom staring at me with cold eyes.
"Splendid."
