Jahlil POV:

"Mom I swear I didn't do anything, this officer just came into my classroom and started hassling me, Desmond and Briante only he came specifically for me."

"Boy why the hell would he come and hassle only you?"

"That's what I don't understand he claims I bullied him my sophomore year and he was a senior."

"Jalin you were too quiet so how could you have"

"That's the point mom something isn't adding up."

"Time is up, time to return to the cell" one of the officers in the precinct told me.

"I have to go I love you mom."

"Wait." She hesitated. "I love you too, I'm going to get you out of there be strong, and don't say anything until you get a lawyer."

I hung up the phone and headed back to the cell, when officer Matthews came in and dragged me to the interrogation room. "Come on boy I ain't got all day." I kept silent the whole time. When he sat me down in the chair he pulled one up along with his partner.

"You're going away for a long time boy, you have so many charges racked up against you."

I gave him a blank stare and he got angry.

"Damn it you son of a bitch say something."

I smirked but still kept silent.

"This isn't a game asshole this is life. I don't want that same smirk you gave me when you terrorized me."

What am I being charged with? I asked indifferently.

The other officer said "Assault on an officer, Resisting Arrest, Disorderly conduct and Disturbing the peace."

I sat back and asked what time is it?

"It's 10:15 A.M." Officer Matthews.

It doesn't matter, only time you need to know is 9 o'clock tomorrow morning you'll be tried and convicted I hope you have a good lawyer because if not you're going down.

I laughed a mocking laugh. I have the best there is Matthews. Can I go to sleep you aren't asking me questions anyway.

Go ahead fuck nigger.

I got up headed back to the cell sat down and fell asleep. About 15 minutes later I heard yelling.

"What the fuck do you mean we can't book him for disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace, he was involved in a street fight damn it."

"Technically it was self defense his dad the guy he fought came in and explained everything. His story and Jahlil's two brothers stories are exactly the same you knew that before you went and arrested the kid."

"Who's he talking too?" I thought to myself.

"Damn it Connor you're supposed to be my bestfriend and partner, you're supposed to back me up."

"You know I only stand for what's right and right now you're wrong man you can't do this it isn't right."

"Well if you ain't gonna back me up I'll handle this myself asshole."

I heard footsteps coming down the corridor and I knew something big was about to go down. He appeared around the corner with his gun in hand pointing at me. I dropped to my knees and prayed. No time to think about what could happen to me I just wanted have my last words be a prayer.

The heard the gun click and a shot fire the pain I felt couldn't even be described.

Desmond POV:

Man we've bee waiting here all day B and we haven't even been inside the precinct. I'm about to call my mom and see what's up.

"Mom where are you Jahlil is in the precinct and we're waiting for you to get here before we make any moves."

"I'm on my way Desmond your Uncle Vernon is coming to he's going to be Jahlil's attorney."

"Really? Uncle Vernon? I haven't seen him since we were like 8."

"Yes but now isn't the time for the excitement we'll be there in five."

"Yes ma'am. Hurry mom I think that pyscho my do something to Jahlil."

Wow Uncle Vernon! He's always been my favorite even though I haven't seen him in a while. I said to Briante but he seemed uninterested he just sat there staring out the window. I let him stay quiet I know how he gets when he's angry. Five minutes pissed when I saw a black Chevy Tahoe pull into the parking lot of the precinct.

Come on lets get ready to go inside Briante.

We exited the car then walked over to the truck. My mom stepped out of the passenger seat and my uncle stepped out of the driver seat. Come on lets head inside I said after getting my uncle. When we walked into the precinct no one was at the front desk which was weird and the only thing I could hear was shouting in the back

"Holy fuck what've you done Matthews!?"

"I told you I'd handle the fucker myself if we couldn't convict him."

"You dumb fuck now he can't even make it to trial in the morning, all these questions will rise about why he couldn't make it then what will you say? How will you explain this?"

"I don't know Connor shit hopefully the little shit dies abd doesn't male it to trial."

"You twisted fuck, you've gone mad you shot him because he couldn't be convicted for 2 out of 4 fucking charges. You have lost it man the cameras saw everything man you're going down if this boy dies."

I walked back to the room in the back and I saw Jahlil on the floor lying in a pool of blood. Ma! Mama! I yelled until they were finally around the corner.

She looked at the two officers and asked "Which one of you did this to my boy?" Neither of them answered they just sat there. I looked at Matthews and he had his head down. His partner sold him out and then my mom attacked him completely knocking him down.

"You son of a bitch I will kill you!" She raged.

She was punching the man in the face repeatedly, I had to pull her off of him. He was bleeding badly and Jahlil was still bleeding out.

We piled him into the Tahoe and sped off. He was still conscious he started talking to me to stay awake.

Jahlil POV:

"Desmond? I don't wanna die."

"You're gonna make it man think positive."

"Incase I don't make it I love y'all boys man I'm glad I was blessed with y'all two. Mama I love you so much thank you for everything."

"Look baby you're going to be fine think positive."

I closed my eyes and calmed my mind and started to breath. When I opened them again I was being rushed into the emergency room with all these needles and things in my arms the scattered chatter of doctors confused me so I closed my eyes again and tried to rest. The last thing I remembered was hearing the doctors say "Pass me that needle. We'll need to put him to sleep before starting this operation."
