"Why the hell is it so damn cold today?"

She sits on the bleachers while she rubs her hands together, trying to produce heat.

" And where are they? He told me they would be here by now."

A bundle of boys come running out onto the field. They were all hyped up and ready for the game. The apposing team was already out on one end of the field. Both teams are huddled into their own circles. Amanda turns around looking to see if they have arrived yet, but still no sign of them. She does notice someone else walking toward her. Someone she didn't think she would see ever again.

"Hey. It's been a while huh?"

Her facial expression gives away that she's pretty confuses and wondering why he is talking to her.

"Hey, Freddy. Yeah it has been. The last time i spoke to you was back in high school when you decided to start a rumor about me."

She know that that would sting a bit.

"Yeah... I was a huge asshole... I honestly don't know why I didn't apologize about that a long time ago, but I am truly sorry about that. I hope you can forgive me."

"Of course I forgive you. I'm not that person that just holds grudges against people."

" I'm glad." He begins to smile. " So how have you been?"

"I've been good. I'm almost done with college and I feel like I'm doing more work than I've ever done in my life, but other than that I'm doing pretty good." They both begin to laugh. " What about you? What have you been up to?"

"Oh you know just working my ass off at my new job. Nothing special. You know sometimes I wish I was still in high school."

"Yeah I know exactly how you feel." They simultaneously sigh. Amanda looks down at the ground. When she brings her head up again she notices that Freddy was staring at her. Once he realizes she is looking at him he says "Ugh.. um.. Do you think maybe we could grab some coffee or something one day?" She was about to answer when a familiar voice says " Hey. Sorry am I interrupting anything?" Jay. Jay has been her best friend for almost five years now.

"Ugghh..." Amanda was interrupted by Freddy.

"Nah, man. It was nothing important."

"Oh okay, cool. Ugh, so Amanda... This is Alexis." He gestures toward the girl standing next to him. She is a little curvy, has dark brown hair, and dark brown eyes. She is wearing distressed dark blue jeans and a sweater that seems to be way to big on her. Amanda realizes that she is wearing Jay's favorite sweater, which is kind of a big thing. The only other person he lets wear that sweater is Amanda. She ignores it and greets Alexis.

"Its's a pleasure to meet you! Jay has told me A LOT about you." Amanda brings her hand out gesturing for a handshake. They both shake hands and then Alexis says

"Yeah he's said a lot about you too." She giggles a little.

"Really?" Amanda questionably looks at Jay.

Jay then says "Yeah, I hope you don't mind. I just wanted her to know about my best friend."

"Yeah, I totally get that. I don't have a problem with you telling her things. I just hope some of the things you told her weren't bad."

"Don't worry they weren't bad." He laughs.

"Okay good. So are we just gonna stand here all day or are we gonna watch some football?" Amanda asks. They all agree and they sit down.

"So Freddy you wanna sit here or do you already have someone your sitting with?" Amanda asks Freddy.

"Um, sure. I came with my family so it's not a big deal."

"Okay cool." Amanda smiles at Fredy and then faces the field.

It is finally half time and the game is starting to get pretty intense. The group decided that they would get snacks. So they all went to a near by corner store.

When they got to the store, the group sort of split up. Jay and Alexis went one way and Fredy and Amanda went another. Amanda noticed that Jay was a little hesitant to split up, but Alexis pulled him away so fast, he didn't even get the chance to say anything. Amanda let it go and continued walking through an aisle with Fredy.

Amanda, not realizing, began grabbing several items from the aisle. When she turned to face Fredy, she sees that he's laughing at her.

"What are you laughing at?"

"Nothing." He continues laughing.

She quickly catches on and realizes that he's laughing at the fact that she's just grabbing anything that looks good. She gets embarrassed and quickly her face turns rosy red.

" Okay look! I realize that I'm a fat ass!"

"No your not! Clearly your not!" Gesturing toward her body. " I was laughing at how cute it was."

Then his face turns slightly red and he faces the ground. She giggles a little and replies with "Oh..."

Amanda puts back a couple of things and then they head over the cashier. When they get to the counter, they see that Alexis and Jay are still somewhere in the aisles. They pay for they're snacks and wait for the other two.

Finally, Alexis and Jay get back. As they walk toward the counter, Amanda notices that Alexis is acting very clingy and is practically latched onto Jay. She also notices that as Alexis has her arms rapped around Jay's arm, she smirks at Amanda. She grows skeptical about it for a moment, but then tells herself it must be nothing and puts it in the back of her mind.

They get back to the school and continue watching the game.

~

Finally the game ends and everyone begins to leave. Ray and Fredy leave to go speak to the football players while Amanda and Alexis sat on the bleachers. It was sort of awkward for a bit, but finally Amanda started to try and make conversation.

" So do you like football?"

"Um, not really I mainly just go to these things for Jay."

"Oh I see. Yeah I used to be like that, but I don't know? I guess once I actually started paying attention to the game and learning about it I started to like it."

"Oh okay. Yeah I've tried, I guess it's just not for me."

"Yeah well it's not for everyone."

"Yeah."

It got quiet and awkward again. That was until Jay and Fredy came back. Jay came from behind Amanda and Alexis and rapped is arms around the both of them.

"So how are my two favorite girls doing?!"

Both girls simultaneously said "Good!" And giggled. Then Jay beside Alexis and asked "So babe, what did you think of the game?"

She replied with "I thought it was great, baby!" Amanda's eyes widened. 'What was that all about?' She thought. 'Because she told me that she didn't like football??? Something is definitely not right here...'
