I started to remember everything that happened. How I made mistakes, and how I'm trying to live with it now. I've never expected that it would be like this. Especially when I thought that time, that my life was perfect.
It's my first year in high school. I attended a school far away from home so no one will recognize me from my middle school. I tucked my hair in my right ear.
"New life, here I come.."
I have doubts about everything. I clenched my fists and started to march inside the school, my head low and looking at the ground.
I winced in pain when I bumped in to something. I rubbed my head and looked at the person I bumped in to. My eyes widened, the boy is really handsome. He looks a little rough but maybe because he has a bed head.
Then I heard someone clapped hands. I almost jumped from surprise.
"Hey! You still alive?"
The boy is already staring at me, making my cheeks hot. I didn't even noticed I was staring at him. I bowed awkwardly.
"I-I'm sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going."
I didn't looked up again because I know I would blush again if I see his face.
I just heard a silent "Hn.", then he walked passed me.
The entrance ceremony got me flustered, I was on top of the freshmen, I got a perfect score in the entrance exam. It was really bothersome to have a speech and then be automatically part of the student council. The speech was bad enough, I just stuttered all the way. I'm even glad that no one laughed at me, they just watched with a face either bored or amazed. Well, I guess it was mostly the first one. Being part of the student council is a different matter, it seems unnecessary to add me in without any agreement. I guess it can't be helped.
I walked to my classroom just to see a lot of students doing random things. I sat in the back in the middle row. I can't be bothered to talk to anyone when a girl sat beside me, choosing the chair next to the window.
"Hello there miss Saito."
A cute girl looked at me with a closed eye smile and head tilted cutely. She looks a little shy, but I guess she's working on that. I raised an eyebrow. How did she know my name?
The girl understood my questioning eyes and answered.
"I knew your name from the entrance ceremony. Sorry, I haven't even told my name yet. I'm Jenny, Jenny Kunieda."
She gave me again that closed eyes smile and I returned it with a timid smile. I'm not really good around people.
"Why did you seat beside me?"
I swear I saw a sweat dropped from her forehead.
"Uhh.. I'm not really good at studying. So.. I hope you can help me if we seat next to each other."
I tried hard so she can't see me roll my eyes. My eyes are really hidden when I bow my head even slightly.
"I see. Okay then."
I heard her say a silent "yes". Well, it's better to have a friend even if she clearly just wants something from me than to have no one at all.
The first day of classes obviously just started with introductions. The handsome guy I met a while ago appears to be our classmate. His name is Jake Kuroi, he's a half, that explains the very foreign first name. Not that any of us doesn't have foreign names, his just stood out a little. When he noticed me, I got flusttered, but he just diverted his eyes to someone else. Well, atleast I knew he remembered me somehow.
