Acceptance?

I immediately let go of Arata, it probably looked wrong. I turned to face Natsu, "N-nothing! I was just-" I was interrupted when Arata suddenly pulled my face into his chest. "Arata?!" I asked confused. He whispered "Sorry, I didn't think you would want him to see you like this."

That's right. I don't want Natsu to see me like this.

I pushed myself off of Arata and scooted away from him. I looked at the ground, "We were just-" "Whatever. I don't really care. Anyways, let's go Lis."

Lis? As is Lisanna?

I felt my heart beat faster and faster. I looked up immediately, and indeed. She was standing there, right behind Natsu. "What time is it? Isn't class going on?" "You'd know if you had gone. Its lunch, I'm taking Lis to eat. What the hell happened to your face? You look worse than usual." I felt myself cringe backwards.

Worse than usual? I'm sorry, I don't want to look like this either. I just want to be good enough for you.

"Natsu-san. You can leave already." Arata's tone sounded like a warning.

Arata noticed. He noticed how I feel

I watched as Lisanna reached forward and grabbed Natsu's arm, "Natsu-kun, let's go. We shouldn't interrupt Lucy-san and Arata-kun anymore. Let's go eat." I could hear a smile on her face. But my vision was focused on the fact that Natsu hadn't pushed her away. If I had done that it would be bothersome.

"Yeah, let's go."

I snapped out of it and began rummaging through my school bag, "Wait! If you're hungry, I brought you lunch. Let me get it for you-" "How annoying." I pulled out the 3 tier bento box and looked up, "Huh?" "...I said, how annoying." "W-what?"

Annoying?

"Did I ever ask you to bring me lunch every day? No. You decided to do that on your own. I don't have to accept it. Its annoying, just like you." I felt my heart sink as he turned and walked away.

Arata began getting up, "Oi! Get back here you shithead! Don't speak to her like that!" I pulled on his uniform pants, "Arata, don't. Its okay." He looked down at me with worry evident on his features. I smiled up at him.

Fake.

I was surprised when I felt my cheeks being pinched, "Ouch. That's starting to hurt, Arata." "You think it doesn't hurt me to see you smile falsely like that? Because it does." I looked down at my hands, which were still holding the black bento box. Before it was taken from my hands that is.

"I'll take this." I watched in amazement as he devoured the giant bento once he sat down. "You like making lunch? Then make my lunch from here on out, yeah? Your cooking is freaking delicious. I could seriously get used to this."

"...You want me to make you lunch everyday?" I questioned. "Hell yeah!" Then he looked up at me suddenly, "If you want to! You don't have to if you don't!" I giggled, genuinely. "I'd love to make you lunch! I'll buy you a bento before I go home today." A light coat of pink dusted his pale cheeks, "Sweet!" He enveloped me in another hug, "You're amazing, Lu. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise." I unconsciously relaxed into him, I felt safe. Something that I hadn't felt in a long time.

A few minutes passed by when I slightly pushed Arata away. I stood up and brushed my skirt and leggings off, "Let's go to class, there's a test in English that I can't miss. I'll drop by the classes I missed after school, too." "Ugh, math I hate math. I have a test too, I'm gonna fail." "You wouldn't fail if you actually studied!" I exclaimed while crossing my arms over my chest. Instead of standing up he got onto his knees, and placed his hands together in a pleading format, "Ah, please do tutor me in math, Lucy-sensei! I beg of thee!"

I started laughing, "Yes, yes. Let's meet tomorrow at lunch." He smiled and stood up, "Alright, where at?" I thought about the school campus, "Usually I'd say the library, but we'll be eating as well..."

"AH! I GOT IT!"His sudden outburst made me jump, "Where?" "The rooftop!" Uh... But isn't it prohibited to go there?" He smiled mischievously, "Only if we get caught." When he finished he winked. "But, if we get caught we'll get scolded." "C'mon, Lu! It'll be fuuuuun~" he began wiggling his eyebrows again.

I sighed, "Alright fine, just stop that already! Its creepy!" "Yosh!" He exclaimed while throwing his fist in the air.

I just nodded while smiling, "Alright then, let's go to- ARATA!" He interrupted me once again when he threw me over his shoulder again. "Did you really think that I was gonna let you go back to class? Nah! No math for me!" "WHA- " "Let's go and have fun. Even if its for a little bit."
