005: get (off) on
DAY 2.75
BY THE TIME they actually find a place with actual food, the clock strikes eight. The series of events in the past few hours mostly consisted of: Brooke and Calvin fighting; Dakota taking up to half an hour in the public restrooms; Elijah stopping the car because he needed to pee; Fiona bandaging the injured up and Arthur throwing swears at everyone.
Currently, they are all seated around a table next to a window. The seats are couches, covered in red leather and the plain table with only salt and pepper. Dakota and Brooke are hogging up the fries and fried Oreos, along with a shared strawberry milkshake. The boys have settled for water, including Fiona who constantly sneaks a hand to grab a fried Oreo. Calvin is sitting up against the window, next to Fiona, legs brought up to his chest, and soft (that you an barely hear them) snores coming from his nose. His eyes are shut and is probably sleeping for an hour or so.
"Don't you guys want to have something?" Brooke questions, gobbling up a few fries.
"I'm going to have some real food," Elijah says, scrunching up his nose. "I want pizza!"
"Same!" Dakota and Arthur cry out, wailing.
"Be quiet," Fiona softly says. "Let Calvin sleep." Brooke simply rolls her eyes, kicking Calvin's foot on the seat. He simply let's out an incoherent whine and words, before falling asleep again. Brooke then yawns, stretching her arms out.
"May we leave?" Brooke mumbles. "I'm sleepy." Yawning once more, she leans her head on Dakota's shoulder, who's still eating up all the food.
Once Dakota's done, they all walk out, leaving Fiona to wake up the boy asleep. "Calvin?" Fiona mumbles into his ear. She shakes him, shyly, hoping she's doing the right thing. "Hey, Calvin." He lets out groggy words, opening his eyes. Calvin smiles at her nodding. "Come on, get up. Everyone's gone." He nods, waiting for Fiona to get up, following her suit.
"How long have I been out?"
"I think an hour."
"Oh, okay." He looks around at the empty place. "Where's everyone gone?"
"Back. We're going to go find a proper place to eat. The three of us, Arthur, Elijah, and I, I mean, don't really fancy fast food," explains Fiona. She gets up, patting whatever might have come on her butt off. "They're waiting, come on." With that, she flips her hair, walking off in the direction of the exit. Calvin smiles, before following suit.
In the caravan, everyone is yawning, drinking more caffeine, and Brooke decided to fall asleep. Calvin steps in, taking a seat on the floor, leaning his head against the bed and Brooke's legs. Fiona sat on the table, joined by Dakota.
"So, Fiona Pastelle, have you got a boyfriend?" Dakota asks, her smile evil, making the girl before her the slightest bit uncomfortable.
"No," Fiona answers, slowly. Deciding to get an answer herself, she asks, "have you?"
"Me? Boyfriend?" Dakota laughs. "I'd be lucky if a boy even looks at me for more than five seconds."
Surprisingly, Calvin and Arthur turn around and stare at her. Noticing Elijah, who is wearing earphones, is jamming out to some song, Calvin swats his arm, never even once taking his eyes off Dakota. "Wha-" Elijah says, pulling out his earphones with the point where the become one. He then looks at the two boys. Nodding, he stares at Dakota, to which the reason is unknown to him. "Why are we staring at her?" Elijah whispers, not once taking his gaze off her. "If this is to make her uncomfortable, just know I feel like a creep and that -"
