All I see is darkness. I heard a fight, but I didn't want to open my eyes for fear of being noticed, but after a while everything got quiet. I got put into something cold, but a blanket gets put on top of me. Once the blanket is on I opened my eyes only to find that I was under a black blanket. Wow. I can't believe that I'm not able to see anything. Again. This person must really not want me to see anything, or maybe someone isn't supposed to see in. Oh well, maybe I should just think of something else, like whoever knocked me out I guess. From what I saw this was no ordinary person. This person had light blue skin and from the structure of the foot this "person" seemed to be a girl. How a girl could knock me out, I don't know. Why a girl would be way out here in the first place, I don't know. The only thing I do know is that she dragged me across the forest and to this strange place with dirt roads and lots of people. I wonder if it is a town that someone started long ago and everyone forgot about it, like the lost civilization of Roanoke. I suddenly heard a loud, booming voice. I feel like things are going to get very bad for me. Maybe the person is a taxidermist! I don't want to be stuffed! The blanket is pulled off of me and I scream, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

"WHY DID YOU BRING THIS THING HERE MARZIPAN!" said the one with the booming voice.

"I-I thought you would be happy to see that I got him out of the woods," said Marzipan, "I thought that you would've been happy..."

The girl named Marzipan seemed to be scared of something, and I could see why. They stayed quiet for some time, just staring at me while I stared at them. Something about them stuck out, literally. They had elf ears. They. Are. Elves. I am officially freaked out right now. They can tell that I'm about to scream again, and the girl comes up and covers my mouth before I do, and my screams get muffled.

"We know you're freaked out, but don't scream anymore, we don't need any unwanted company," Marzipan said.

"Mph!" I said, trying to make them know that I was agreeing, but failing because of Marzipan's hand over my mouth.

"What?" she said, "Oh" She removed her hand from my mouth and waited for me to speak.

I sighed in relief then said, "I said that I understand...I've already been freaked out enough!"

"Marzipan, you do know that you put the whole colony in danger by bringing him here, right?" said the man.

"Yes...I thought you would want me to bring him here so that he wouldn't find us," said Marzipan

"Wouldn't find us? He's here in the colony, so of course he's found us!" said the man

"But daddy! I just wanted to make you happy!" said Marzipan.

Wait...this guy is her dad? And he let her go out? I'm officially weirded out once again, and just after I got over the whole ears thing.

Marzipan's dad sighed then said, "Marzipan, tell this young man here the story of what happened the last time we saw people here."

"Okay dad," she said before starting her story.

It was my 13th birthday and my father finally let me go explore the woods by myself. I hadn't been expecting it, but there was a group of kids that looked to be around my age hanging out by a tree. One of the boys had this strange thing in his mouth and when he took it out of his mouth he blew out a puff of smoke-"

"-Wait," I interrupted her, "You saw people smoking in the woods?"

"Shh so I can finish the story!" she said then continued, " To me this was quite interesting and reminded me of the pipe my father smoked. I ran up to the group of people without thinking twice. It wasn't a good idea. I screamed as the boy with the pipe-like thing pulled out a switchblade. They all thought that I was a monster. He threw his switchblade at me. As I fell I heard screaming and someone was telling me that everything's going to be alright."

As she was telling the story she had started crying and I wanted to make her feel better, but her father narrowed his eyes at me, knowing what I was thinking, so I just sat there while her father comforted her. I wanted to comfort her so badly, but I couldn't for fear of getting killed by her father.

"She never finished the story," her father said, "She never did see what happened after she fell, so I shall tell you. After she fell I got someone to take her home while I took care of the people myself. I then buried them in the ground with no caution, because of their disrespect of my land."

"Wait a second," I said, "You killed them?!?"

"Yes, why wouldn't I? They disrespected my land and my child. They deserved it," said her father.

"Are you going to kill me?" I said trying to keep the fear out of my face.

"Why shouldn't I?" he said, "You're just going to do the same thing as those other boys, aren't you?"

"No! Why would I? There's no reason to. The only reason I came to the forest was to get away from all the troubles of my life. I didn't come here to hurt anyone," I said, "I didn't even know that you were here!"

Marzipan was whispering something to her father as I sat there and watched them. I noticed that they didn't mean any harm, it wasn't their fault that they wanted to get rid of me. It was the fault of those who were here in this place before me. They ruined the chances of anyone ever coming back to this place. This place is now hated, and if anyone ever finds this place it will be destroyed. I was distracted from my thoughts when Marzipan said something to me.

"Hello? Are you there?

"Huh? Oh, yeah i'm here," I said.

"Good. Now you need to listen," she said.

"Ok," I said.

"Now," her father said, "You will learn the ways of my colony and you will not hurt any of us in any way. If you do, you die."

"What!" I said, "I wasn't going to hurt anyone in the first place!"

"That's why we are still taking extra precautions," said her father, "And that's the end of the conversation. I've kept the people waiting long enough."

Then he left, and it was just me and Marzipan, all alone.
