SEAN KING POINT OF VIEW

"Sean! Sean! Sean! Sean!" My military family chanted. I couldn't help but give the vodka in my hand a nasty look. Nonetheless, I prepared myself for chugging it down. I threw my head back in an attempt to let the liquid quickly go down faster. I slammed the glass down and wiped the excess liquid with the back of my hand. Happily, I looked around taking in the scene before me. Women waved their way to their preferred military man. My buddies were laughing and joking around. The stress of our lives melted away with each beer bottle, each kiss by the women, and each story that was being said. We were glad that it was time to say goodbye to that hellhole we call home. Still, a nauseating feeling could not help but surface to my drunken mind. This place would always have a special place in my heart.

I was sad to let this go. It felt like the day I left home for here. This place was home to me for the past four years. The reason why leaving was bearable was that I would be taking some of my brothers in arms with me. Back to the little town that the boys of fall was loved the most. I could already feel the weight of my helmet and shoulder pads on. The smell of fresh cut grass on the field and the white glittering chalk. The stadiums were nice and high. They had bright lights that became one with the twinking Friday night stars. The sweat and grime of the game would give us an awful smell when we huddled up together. Our back proudly displayed are names and numbers. Till death do us part is the way I can describe football and military.

"Now tell me why you aren't enjoying your time like the rest of these dogs and instead over here with that constipated look on your face?" There next to me with a glass bottle of bud light was 32 years old Mike Wester. He was one of the first people to show me the ropes.

"Just thinking old man," I smirked as his eye twitched. His age was always a sensitive subject. I took a sip of my coke that I long ago got after taking my shots.

"Thinking about what, old sport?" I gave an amused smile at his silly nickname that he insisted on calling me after reading The Great Gatsby.

"Life in general. How am I expected to go back to civilian life when I've been here since my young adult years."

"Don't worry boy your still young you'll get the knack of things in no time." Mike tried to assure me with a pat on the back I nodded and with closed eyes leaned back trying to clear my raging mind.

"Hey, Sean come over here!" I cranked my neck to find the caller it was Tom who was across the bar. He had a curvy latina woman around his arm. He gestured for me to come over. I looked to see an empty seat next to a brunette. I gave a tired smile to Mike and excused myself.

RYAN MALIK POINT OF VIEW

I was lifted and carried out towards the boy's locker room after we managed to make our way through the crowd of football fans. I was on cloud nine today we won our fifth football game in a row. The clean locker room was quickly dirtied by out grime and blood. The noise of the cloud died down after an hour or so. I was one of the last persons in the locker room. Sure enough, a head filled with curly brown hair popped up next to the door. The person was my best friend since our diaper days.

"Hmmm. I could use some pizza and fries." I answered his questions about wanting to go and eat.

He gave me his girl slayer smile and said he'll go round the boys up for our feast. I let out a sigh once he was gone and leaned my head on the cold steel lockers. My head cooled down as I sat there with my eyes closed.

"It's been two years," I whispered lowly. And I am still not close to finding my other half. It was killing me. My thoughts were interrupted. My thoughts were interrupted by Matt who came back to get me.

"Hey, you coming man?" All I could do was a nod. My mood had plummeted. I got ready to enjoy the honor of being the football star of the town Arrow.
