You were a student at Devenford Prep and, shockingly enough, you were friends with Liam Dunbar. Yeah... the angry kid who trashed one of the teachers' car. He was your best friend, until he had to go to Beacon Hills High.
After Liam left, you stopped going to the Lacrosse games. You weren't a huge fan of the sport so without your best friend to cheer on it seemed pointless to go.
It was now the first game between Devenford and BHH since Liam left and you were there, sitting on the cold bleachers on the Beacon Hills side.
Since you were only there for Liam, you wore red to support him, while your classmates sat on the other bleacher in green.
Before you knew it, the teams were on the field warming up. You spot Liam quickly, but not before he spotted you.
"Y/N!" He shouted happily as rushed toward you with his arms open.
"Li!" You say smiling and walk into his arms, after jogging down the steps to get to the ground again.
"You're in red." He states.
"Well, I'm here supporting my best friend, why would I wear green." You reply.
"Because it's your school, and I'm playing." You hear from behind you.
Liam visibly tenses and looks angry, instantly telling you who it was.
"Hey, Brett, sorry but my best friend beats both of those." You state.
"And here I thought we had something starting." He teases.
"Maybe, but lacrosse is still Liam and I's thing. He's the only reason I even watch it so..." You trail off.
"I'll convince you to watch your own school's practices, you'll see." He smiles mischievously before winking and walking away.
"You've been talking to him?" Liam asks quietly.
"I have 6 out of 8 of my classes with him this year."
He just mumbles under his breath.
"Even if I have a crush on him, you'll always be my best friend and he won't change that, I promise." You reassure him.
"Fine, but if he hurts you I'm going to kill him." He explains looking you in the eyes.
"Sounds good." You laugh.
*** After the game***
"Bye, Y/N, I'll text you." Liam says.
"See ya, Li." You nod while hugging him goodbye.
You watch him get in a blue Jeep with a few juniors and drive away.
"Uh, Y/N?" You see Brett approaching you.
"Yeah?" say curiously.
"I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me, get some pizza?" He asks.
"Sure." You smile.
"Really? Great." He smiles back.
You decided then that his smile was a lot more attractive than his smirk.
"This is step one of my plan to get you to watch me practice." He declares.
"Watch you practice, I thought this was about supporting my school." You joke.
"Well... that's part of it, but watching me is more important because, as my girlfriend, you'll be wearing my jersey so the other guys won't be looking at you in any way I don't like anyway." He informs.
"Your girlfriend?" You ask shocked.
"That's the next step in the plan." He smiles.
"So dating me is only a step to get me to watch you play?" You voice hiding your disappointment.
You and Brett had been talking over the summer and when school was back in session, and you might have developed a teensy crush on him. Although, you had thought that the flirting was a sign that he might have actually liked you back...
"That's just a benefit. Extra for me. It's unnecessary step that I added three days after we started talking. You see, my plan was formed after the first game that Liam was gone cause I noticed you weren't there... It changed slightly after I started liking you, but the end product is still having you in the crowd so..." He trails off blushing.
"You like me?" You ask for clarification.
"Yeah, quite a lot." He adds chuckling.
"Well, I like you too, quite a lot." You reply with a teasing tone.
"Whatever, make fun of me all you want, my plan is going to work. Also, what kind of pizza do you want?" He smirks.
Nope, his smirk is equally as attractive, you think.

Might actually make a part two for this?!
