It was a regular day, well as regular as Beacon Hills High could be.

You were in the library waiting for your best friend, Liam, to finish lacrosse practice. Since it was October, you didn't want to sit outside in the cold on the freezing bleachers.

You were in the middle of an algebra question when you hear feet pounding on the tiles.

You look up quickly and see Stiles running toward you frantically. You stand up immediately and throw your work in your bag.

"What's wrong?" You ask anxiously.

"Liam... angry... fight... help now." He pants.

You nod and you both take off, Stiles leading you to the boys' change room.

Stiles pushes the door open stops when you step in.

"He's in the showers..." He informs you quietly.

You cautiously walk toward them and spot Liam easily. He's standing under the stream of water, back facing you.

"Liam?" You call out timidly.

His head turns quickly and he growls at you. You can see his canines and his glowing yellow eyes, indicating his loss of control at the moment.

"Li..." You try again, walking even closer.

His eyes flicker with recognition and his hands unclench, revealing his claws and the cuts they made on his palms.

"It's just me, Y/N..." You say softly, slowly taking his hand in yours.

As you join your hand with his, his claws retract immediately. He turns away from you and takes three deep breaths.

You use your other hand to turn his face back to yours so he's looking down into your eyes.

"Come back to me, okay? Listen to my heart beat..." You reassure him.

Liam closes his eyes for five seconds and when he reopens them he's back to his normal self.

"Much better." You smile.

He smiles back but it shifts into a look of mischief.

"Liam, no, don't you da-" You're cut off by Liam tugging you swiftly under the water.

"Li!" You shriek as the cold water splashes your whole body.

"I had to." He laughs.

"No you didn't." You glare at him playfully.

"Thank you." He says pulling you into a tight hug.

"Of course..." You sigh into the hug.

"Scott told me why you always seem to help me..." Liam states kind of awkwardly.

"What'd he say?" You inquire curiously.

"He told me to find an anchor, which is basic something or someone who reminds you that you're human and brings you back." He starts.

"Okay..?" You trail off still confused.

"It's you. You're my anchor, Y/N. I just wanted to tell you because even though I know you're my best friend, I like you more than that..." He explains.

"You like me?" You repeat nervously.

"Yeah, like a lot." He replies smiling.

"I like you too, Li." You smile back.

"That's good cause this would have been weird otherwise." He says playfully, pulling you into another hug.

"Can we dry off now?" You ask teasingly.

"That's probably a smart idea." He agrees and grabs a large towel out of his locker. "C'mere."

He opens his arms while the towel drapes over them and you walk into them, wrapping your own around him s waist.

Liam wraps the towel around you, successfully hugging you to him as close as possible.

"So... Will you be my girlfriend, Y/N?"

"Yes, I'd love to be yours, Li."
