When Matt finally finishes eating he takes his bowl to the kitchen and we sign out and start the walk to school. We stand at the crossing and wait for the cars to stop.
We start to walk across but a huge truck comes speeding around the corner and we run back to the sidewalk. The truck is almost at the crossing when I see a lady with dark glasses and a cane walking across the crossing. I run across to her and push her out of the path of the truck.
The last thing I hear is Matt's scream and then nothing....
