When I open my eyes I expect to see the grey ceiling of the orphanage, but instead there is a white ceiling and a yellow light. The mattress underneath me is uncomfortable and unfamiliar. I'm in a hospital. Machines are beeping next to me and there is an IV drip in my arm. I try to move but pain overwhelms me. My eyes fill with tears, a sharp pain shoots up both legs and it feels like I got punched in the ribs 100 times. Both of my shoulder blades ache and my left arm is in a cast. I move my right hand and touch my face. There are stitches near my left eyebrow and half of my hair is shaved off.

I hear snoring and when I look to my right I see Matt asleep in the chair next to my bed.

"Matt" I say quietly, when he doesn't wake up I say his name a little louder but he still remains asleep. "Matthew!" I yell. He wakes up with a jolt and I laugh at the expression on his face.

"Your awake" he says in a sleepy voice. I smile weakly and he tells me how I ended up in hospital.
