Yuko breathed in and out, her eyes wide as saucers. Her brother was going. He was leaving her. Who would get her food? Who would visit her? Who would talk to her? Be her release?
Yuko knew she was in trouble.
She would not be able to leave the house. No one knew why. No one got her. She began to tear up. She was so very hungry. Soon she was full out sobbing until she heard a knock on the door.
She got up, and slowly opened the door. "What do you want!"
A boy with black hair, extremely pale skin, and strangely, red eyes.
"Oh. Do I know you?" She had asked 'him.' "Maybe not, but I know you." He had responded smoothly, looking around her house.
Now that was weird. "Oh. What's your name?" "My name is Yasha."
"Yasha?" She had repeated. "That's a nice name and all, but do you know it means demon?"
"And do you know your name means depressed child?" He said, in a cold voice. "How do you know my name?" She asked, in a dead serious voice.
"That's for me to know, and for you to wonder about for the rest of your life." He said in a sarcastic voice. Then he reached into his bag and pulled something out.
It was a meal. "Take it. God knows you need it." He said seriously and walked off, closing the door behind him.
Yuko sat shocked holding the bag of food. She looked down at it. It was her favorite food, chicken. She sat, wondering if it was poisoned. She decided she was too hungry to even care, and continued to eat it.
Yuko was tired. She decided to get some rest. Changing into her gray night gown, she laid down, brushing a strand of her red hair away, and falling asleep.
Yuko found herself somewhere else. She looked around confused. This was not her normal dream. She was not in the corridor full of doors, but in a black field with a red sky. She walked around, exploring her unfamiliar dream.
"Where am I?" She wondered aloud.
"You my dear, are in the center of your own mind..." A mysterious voice answered. By the pitch of the voice, Yuko could tell it was male.
"Who are you!" She had screamed.
"Oh, my darling, I'm hurt. You don't recognise my voice?" Said the voice as he stepped out of the dark.
"Yasha!?"She asked. "The one and only." He said with a cheshire cat grin. "What-- Oh." She had almost forgot this was a dream, and any one could appear here.
"Don't be so sure, little finch. Are you sure this dream isn't..." He got all close to her ear, and whispered, "Real?"
"..."
"Get off!" She said, shoving him away. She saw a flicker of something in his eyes, before his grin grew wider.
"Oh, innocent little finch, I can see how you might think you have the upper hand here." Then his grin dropped, "Watch yourself, because you know who's really in charge." He said.
Yuko woke up panting. She looked over at her bedside table. There was a bag full of food and a note. It read:
'My gift from me to you....
Little Finch.
