3 months later
I'm still in pain and I'm struggling to walk. I know that I'm not supposed to walk or play until next year May or June, but if I can push my recovery to this month I can start playing again. As I tried to stand up, I heard footsteps coming from upstairs which was mum who was rushing as always for work.
"Okay hun I'm going to work and I'll try to be back early, okay."said mum packing her bag quickly.
"Okay mum. Mum is Cristiano coming over to, you know "baby sit me"."I asked while laughing.
"No dear 'your baby sitter won't be coming today.'"replied my mum while kissing my forehead and waving goodbye. So Cristiano isn't coming by to watch me or see if I'm okay which is good not just good, it's perfect. No one here to watch me. I can finally work on my recovery plan. As I was about to stand up the front door opened, I stayed seated not moving a single muscle.
"Sarah are you okay?"asked Cristiano.
"Yeah I'm fine. What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Well the team is having a get together before the international break and we would really appreciate it if you join us."he said.
"Sure I'd love to come."
"Perfect."he said while sitting down opposite me.
"What's troubling you Sarah?"he asked.
"What do you mean by that,Cristiano."I asked.
"Don't act you know exactly what I mean."he replied. He was actually right I do know what he means. I stayed quiet for a few seconds.
"Cristiano, do you think that I can speed up my recovery so that I don't miss the entire season. I have only played as a Madrista for at least 54 minutes. I have only played one match and I want to play many more with Madrid."I said while tears began to flow down my face.
"Sarah to be honest I think that you can speed up your recovery. I'm not saying that you should try it but what I'm saying is that it's possible but we don't know the outcome. It could go from bad to worst or bad to better. Please don't cry and please be patient. Remember everything has a time. It will recover on its own and before you know it you'll be back with us playing football on the field a as Madrista."his words comforted me even though I wasn't pleased with his response.3 hours later.
I quickly got done for the get together when an idea struck my mind. I decided to try and walk downstairs without my crutches even though Cristiano said I shouldn't try. As I slowly and carefully took a step, I felt a sting in my leg. It was so painful that it actually felt like a knife cutting through wood. I was very lucky that my mother and sister weren't home otherwise I'd be in trouble. I scream in pain. It stung for a while but it eventually stopped. I began walking normally but kept holding and gripping on things around me. I finally reached the staircase. Wow it was a long way down. I held the rail and began walking down the steps until I realized I was straining my muscle. I stopped walking. I thought to myself: my leg really hurts but I had to try. With every step I took I strained and pushed my recovery further. I was knocked out of my thoughts when I had lost my balance and slipped down the staircase. Everything became blank.Stephanie's pov
45 minutes before the incident.
My friends and I were on our way to the movies when my mum had phoned and asked me to go and check on Sarah just I case she tries anything stupid.
Present
We finally got to my house after a 45 minute drive. The light in Sarah's room was still on which meant that Sarah was still home. I walked inside. The house was quiet.
"Sarah where are you?! Sarah!!! Don't ignore me!! Where are you?!"I yelled and no response. Sarah is so arrogant and rude. I can't stand her. She better answer or I swear I'll tell mum to take her football career away for good. I walked towards the staircase.OMG!!! My sister is lying at the bottom of the staircase completely full when I say full I mean covered in bruises. She is also bleeding. The blood looks like it's coming from her head. Which is serious. I took out my phone and called the ambulance.
"Hello. This is Stephanie Hernandez. My sister Sarah Hernandez fell down the staircase and is in a bad condition. I need an ambulance now!"I said.
"Sure ma'am. Can I get your address please?"asked the nurse.
"24 Angela Street."I replied.
"On their way ma'am."she replied.
It took them 10 minutes to get here. I'm just happy that I got here sooner than later. She was immediately rushed to hospital.
