Morgana P.O.V.

I was in my chambers, when a head of Raven hair came through the door at full speed. Merlin crashed into the bed, not slowing down in time.
"Merlin!" I exclaimed, picking him up from his position on the ground. He gripped tightly onto my hand.
"Sisa! Guess what I learned!" He looked around to see if anyone was listening, before whispering, "Bubba loves Gwen!" My eyes widened, and I grinned.
"You sure?" I asked. He nodded quickly. "Well then, let's go see what he has to say." I pulled him to the door with me, entering the corridor. I saw Arthur running down the corridor towards us, but slowed as he saw me. There was a look of horror and resignation written on his face. I approached him.
"I assume you know what I heard from little Merlin here?" I asked. He sighed.
"Of course I do." I pulled him quickly into my chambers along with Merlin. Oh, the teasing I could bring upon Arthur and Gwen. I smirked and dragged Arthur to the table and sat him down. I took my time sitting down on the chair opposite him. I folded my hands and smirked.
"So, I was informed by a little merlin bird that someone was in love with my maidservant?" I had to refrain from laughing as Arthur groaned and banged his head on the table in front of us.
"I'm not in love with Gwen!" He exclaimed. He turned to Merlin. "You little adorable traitor!" Merlin squeaked and hid behind my chair, giggling wildly. I laughed, as did Arthur. Merlin just brightened up the room. Arthur stood up and picked up Merlin. Little Merlin squealed in delight and thoughts about Arthur liking Gwen and vice versa faded away.

I was reading a book in my chambers an hour after Merlin and Arthur left when Gwen came in. I closed my book quietly and smirked.
"I'm sorry I'm late, I got held up-"
"I know Gwen." I cut in. "So, you and Arthur hmm?" She blushed and stuttered out excuses. I chuckled lightly.
"No, I- I don't like Arthur! I mean, I like him as a friend, but not romantically!" I shook my head and smiled at her.

"I was informed by Merlin about your little hallway encounter." I set the book down on the table and stood up. She stood there awkwardly for a moment. "I'm just teasing, Gwen!" She laughed weakly and smiled.

"Oh thank goodness!" I shook my head.

"I still believe that you're in love with Arthur, though." She stopped laughing.

"So, what did you do with Merlin?" She asked, changing the subject.

"Well, we played with his toys a little, and I'm trying to teach him some manners. But other than that, he just sort of sits in here and watches me doing whatever I'm doing at the time." I remembered Merlin watching intently as I rearranged my vanity. He would stare at what my hands were doing, before looking in the mirror.

"He's such an adorable little boy, I wonder why anyone would just leave him in the middle of the woods." She stated sadly, fixing the sheets on the bed. Her hands stilled. "I wonder how he lost his memories, and how he got into the middle of the forest." I shrugged.

"From what I've heard, Arthur just found him in the woods and noticed that he was the only one who had been there for a while, so he took him with the patrol." Gwen looked at me, obvious sadness in her gaze.

"That's absolutely horrible." She said quietly. A thoughtful look crossed her face. "I wonder if he was all alone. I mean, if his parents are dead." I recoiled slightly at the thought.

"I never thought about that, especially since he can't remember anything." I rubbed my forehead. "I just always assumed that they had left him." I said. Gwen nodded.

"It's also curious as to why Uther was so keen on taking him in at first sight, don't you think?" I nodded.

"Yeah, Arthur and I have wondered about that." Gwen turned to me.

"Well, I'd better get going. My father's probably wondering where I am." She said and smiled.

"Alright, say hello for me."

"I will." With that, Gwen exited my chambers. I turned towards the window, where I could see Merlin sitting on one of the steps leading to the courtyard. What had happened to him? Why did Uther seem keen on keeping him? And why was he near Camelot patrols anyway?

AN: Hey my little birdies! So, I know this is kind of (REALLY) late, but I have been super duper busy for the past month. (Oh my gosh, it's been a month since I wrote on here!) High school is tough, along with my great grandma dying, so I didn't think to write. But I'm updating all of my stories, so I can get onto a normal schedule again!

Ciao!
